    We will see.

The Democratic Party is going to change, or it will not win elections.

The likes of Schumer, Jeffries and the other clowns that seem to think that it is 2005.

People can dismiss AOC for her hyperbole, but the man currently in the Whitehouse has shown that being a clown isn't disqualifying if you have the pulse of the right people.

As a Latina woman she has to do "extra" to convince the average white male voter she isn't a clown because the default position for most white men in this country when they see someone that looks like AOC in a position of power is that it's "clown like".

She doesn't really say anything thing clown like in the words she expressed. And you can see how @Reeko refers to her clownish behavior in platitudes rather than specifics because for people like him it's "the vibes" that make her a clown and the vibe is being a Latina woman who expressed leftist values.

There is no guarantee that Vance even wins the Republican nomination, as the long term success of the current Republican power structure is going to depend on the economy. If the US is in a recession or sluggish growth - the people will turn on those associated with the current Republican Party based on their obvious tinkering with the economy.

What makes me think that the Democrats will learn? History, the Republicans were not in good shape post Obama and emerged. The Democrats were not in great shape post Reagan and emerged to win 4 of the next 6 elections at the Federal level. As for Biden, he beat Trump head to head the first time. He never should have been the nominee the second time. The head of the Democratic party is trying to remain relevant, but at some point they will be pushed aside - just like the Bush Republican leaders were.

There is some extremism from the Left - as there is the Right, we are in a very polarizing period. That extremism will also lead to changes for the Democrats, as it did with the Republicans.

Historically one party doesn't usually dominate for very long - and absent a total collapse of the economy, I don't see that changing either.

As a woman she has to do extra - as a Hispanic woman, she has to even more beyond "extra".

However - she is extremely charismatic, she is not averse to talking to the media and she also is in far better position to understand the plight of a lot of Americans under 45 years old.

She would have to cobble together a coalition, but Trump did too.

If the economy goes South, she could win seniors and enough middle-class voters to win.

Yeah I know - let's not put the cart before the horse, but I would be lying if I didn't say I am uneasy about a lot of what is going on.

I hope the Democrat party can come back together and form a strong coalition. It would be nice if the two parties would spend time trying to help their constituents instead of intentionally getting in eachothers way. This is a key aspect that pushed me from being a firm Republican supporter.

That said, I didn't think Republicans had a good chance of winning this election until Musk got involved. Much can change in a few weeks.

I do think (or hope) the Dems will recover from this, as you said the party in charge typically goes to far and it swings back in the next voting cycle. IMO AOC is one smart cookie; she knows her **** and isn't afraid to get into with the maga gop. I also love Mayor Pete, that dude would go on fox and not blink an eye...............I could be wrong (I hope I am) but I am not sure the USA is ready for a woman (lose more votes if you are a person of color) or a person who is gay. People tend to "want" an older white dude and Commander In Chief, I personally think its dumb, but I had so many women around me who hated Harris simply because they "thought" she slept her way to the top and thought her as evil as trump (which made no sense) and so she ended up not voting and now she is b****ing about what trump is doing.

I still have hopes for Fetterman, but he seems to be taking a different approach then most Dems and is catching some serious backlash, so I am not sure what's going on there. I just hope Newsom isn't in the picture, he just reeks of a used car salesman and he`s from Cali which is strike one and two for the maga crowd.

He's got some policies that work. I can't stand him though. I just can't see another alternative. Harris wasn't it. Newsom is worse. I don't know who I'll vote for. I sat the last out. Don't want to do it again

Disagree from the standpoint Democrats will likely win elections moving forward as a matter of course.

People will get tired of the party in power [Republicans] over promising and under delivering.

We haven't had a party win 3 consecutive terms since Reagan/Bush.

Sitting here today I would imagine Democrats will do well in '26 - which opposition parties usually do - and I would imagine the Democrats win the White House in 2028 if they put up someone half way decent.

Make a statement and plan to attend one of the hundreds of "no kings" protests around the country this weekend.

More 'No Kings' Protests Are Planned Nationwide on June 14: What to Know

Published Jun 09, 2025 at 8:00 AM EDT

More "No Kings" protests are planned across the country on June 14, the latest anti-Trump protest organized amid his second term in office.

What Are the 'No Kings' Protests?
The "No Kings" protests are a "nationwide day of defiance" to "reject authoritarianism," according to the event's organizers. Dozens of grassroots groups are organizing the nationwide protests.

Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, one of those groups, told Newsweek that the goal of the protest is to send a message that the United States "has no kings" amid Trump's military parade in the nation's capital, which coincides with the president's 79th birthday.

"He is planning to roll tanks through the streets of D.C. in celebration of his birthday, and that's the kind of thing you normally wouldn't see in a constitutional republic, certainly not America," Levin said. "It's something you'd see in North Korea or other authoritarian regimes."

The point of the protest isn't just to "show up and be covered," he said.

"This is actually to send a strong message to leaders and institutions who are considering right now whether to capitulate or whether to fight back, and to send a message that this period we are in right now, this period of authoritarian breakthrough, is temporary. And democracy will reassert itself," Levin said.

So Nook, AOC engages in hyperbole, Schumer and Jeffries are clowns ( I assume not hyperbolic) the DP must change so who is for change enough enough without hyperbole. Still mourning Biden or Harris.

More militant ICE raids are coming to a city near you.

The Trump administration is readying tactical ICE units known as “special response teams” to conduct large raids in five Democratic cities, according to MSNBC. They will be in New York City, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia and northern Virginia. While it’s unclear when exactly the raids will start, all ICE agents in those areas have been told to stand by.

This is going to be a mess. Trump’s crackdown in Los Angeles—with thousands of National Guardsmen and hundreds of Marines patrolling the streets—is the model for his larger deportation campaign: Have ICE pour into a community and make indiscriminate arrests, then when civilians predictably resist, use that to justify sending even more militant forces in to quell the chaos that ICE induced. New York City is already on edge, as 80 protestors were arrested in Lower Manhattan Tuesday night at an anti-ICE protest.

“’Look, this isn’t just about protests here in Los Angeles, when Donald Trump sought blanket authority to commandeer the National Guard. He made that order apply to every state in this nation. This is about all of us. This is about you,” said Governor Gavin Newsom. “California may be first, but it clearly will not end here. Other states are next. Democracy is next. Democracy is under assault before our eyes, this moment we have feared has arrived.’”

notice how not a peep from Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer, and the rest of worthless Democrat leadership

Gavin Newsom has done more fighting in 3 days than the rest of them combined have done in 6 months
