Obama was encouraging folks to follow the process and explaining the consequences if they didn't. Now, ICE is asking people to come in for a hearing and arresting them when they show up to follow the law. They are abducting people who have legal status. They are going into elementary schools and rousting first-graders. They are harassing granddaughters to get them to call their grandmother so the grandmother shows up and is taken away. They are disappearing people to other countries with no due process and no sentence. They are intentionally targeting certain groups and provoking selected communities. There's a huge, huge difference and you know it.

I swear, everything about Repubs these days--from Constitutional law and SC decisions to AI slop and janky memes--is based on taking words out of context and creating either bad law and policy or outrage around an issue. It's just so tiringly stupid.

He acted like Los Angeles was a situation where they might start gunning down police, ICE, and civilians in the streets.The police force and ICE aren't enough, I'm sending 2,000 National Guard soldiers!!! Shoot anybody with sponge bullets who approaches your barriers. They could all be wearing vests of dynamite, and that means shoot reporters with cameras and badges too. OMG, more brick throwing, vandalism, and cars burning, 2,000 plus the police, plus ICE, won't be enough. I'm sending 2,000 more National Guard soldiers!! Now it's a foreign invasion, neighborhoods are being bombed, tanks and troops are gunning down ICE, police, and civilians in the streets, and a war has started. I'm sending in the Marines!!! I will save Los Angeles from this foreign invasion!!!!
