last night, kerry made an interesting (inadvertent?) admission in an interview w/ tom brokaw: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6354942/ Brokaw: Someone has analyzed the President's military aptitude tests and yours, and concluded that he has a higher IQ than you do. Kerry: That's great. More power. I don't know how they've done it, because my record is not public. So I don't know where you're getting that from. yet, in september, in an interview w/ Don Imus, Kerry claimed: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6009011/ IMUS: A Freedom of Information Act request by "The Washington Post" regarding your military records produced six pages of information, while a spokesman for the Navy Personnel Command said there were at least 100 pages of information available, but he was not authorized to release them. Why can't we see this stuff? KERRY: We've posted my military records that they sent to me, or were posted on my Web site. You can go to my Web site, and all my -- you know, the documents are there. IMUS: So is -- everything's available? KERRY: To the best of my knowledge. I think some of the medical stuff may still be out there. We're trying to get it. and last april, on Hardball: MATTHEWS: OK. You did that today, Senator. You went after, you put out a statement in your campaign, asking tough questions, documented questions—you had all the material there—about President Bush‘s — President Bush‘s participation. KERRY: I have not—I don‘t—I haven‘t seen what went out. MATTHEWS: What went out, it basically tracks what you did the other day on “Good Morning America.” And the question your staff put out, under your name, is, is Bush telling the truth, President Bush, when he said he had no special privileges or favoritism in jumping 150 places to get in the Air Guard in Texas? What do you think about that? Is that something you care about? You want to know the truth? KERRY: He ought to answer that question. MATTHEWS: Why? KERRY: Because I‘ve answered the questions. I released all my military records. Mr. Gillespie thought it was important enough to go travel to another state, make a big speech, demand that I release my records. I did. Everything. All of it. Including my officer fitness reports. What's he hiding? shouldn't the press want to know? if the press can pry open jack ryan's sealed divorce records, why can't they get kerry's military records? could it be they want him to win?
It's hard to tell when basso is kidding or not anymore, he's so far gone....maybe after Tuesday he will slowly reenter the atmosphere.
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high-powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
Exactly what?? How civil am I supposed to be? I'm not Mother Teresa. I thought my response was extremely civil, given that he used a completely misleading title. Am I supposed to just automatically slap my forehead and go, "Duh!" because I was nuts enough to click on the thread? Talk about reaching. If both of you reach any further, you're going to fall off the planet. Try and do us all a favor, and don't fall down, or off. OK? And keep D&D Civil!!
See Foas? That was civil. I would have told you and basso to run off the flat earth you live on and possibly sustain great bodily harm when impacting onto the back of the giant stack of tortoises that support your twisted worldview.
basso: This is something we'd like to cut down on in ALL the forums - misleading titles. In fact, EVERYONE in here should get used to being more clear in their titles. It is frustrating and can lead to problems.
I wasn't calling out your civilness. Hey, it'll all be over by Wednesday morning. Hopefully a Rockets win over the Pistons will ease any election hangover you might hopefully have.
the "double standard" wasn't about "keeping it civil", it was about what you and the media deam germaine. and the thread title, while perhaps creative, was amply supported by the quotes therein. kerry said he'd released all his records. now he, rather triumphantly, says they're sealed. if that doesn't qualify as a lie, what does? True dat.
What he said is that he released all the ones he's had. Bush said the same thing, and then new records surfaced. I believe Bush may well have released all the ones he had.
