Listening to the early speculation, the expectation is a 1a-1b type grinder to get the benefit of a grinder without the wear and tear.

But I fantasize about something exotic here and there like a modern T formation. Anybody else?

    The dude is toast.

Great talent but his best days are behind him.

Maybe. He certainly wasn't fully himself prior to breaking his foot. While it may be hopium, I'm HOPING it was just a typical slow recovery from pushing himself back a little too soon and not permanent damage.

    But the price is right.

I think this is a flyer, maybe he has something in the tank, maybe he spells Joe 5-6 snaps per game......................hell, I have no clue, but I am down with the signing if only we get 3-4 highlights that help us WIN in a crucial instance

My biggest thing is.....can he do more than DP, I was hoping for a breakout year but his days may be numbered based on the number of backs we currently have

I don't mind the Texans taking a flyer on him. I just view it as a lottery ticket though because he hasn't been the same for two years. I hope he plays like he did 3-4 years ago though.

going to admit that I didn't watch too much of him before some highlights the past couple of days... 3 things stood out

    1) vision - either you have it or you don't, his is elite
    2) acceleration/speed - got through the hole and ran away from defenders
    3) strength - breaking arm tackles and always finishing forward

I feel pretty good that 2 of 3 can still be true with one only questioning speed after multiple lower body injuries. the further away he gets from these injuries, with a lower workload, I think he can find success here. going to need some patience though.

One year contract. If it works out, awesome. If it doesn't.....who cares.

LOL. Takes a handoff, then two fast steps, then jogs. I’m hopeful for him, but “making waves” and “a monster” is a bit of a stretch at this point.

They may be small waves at the moment, but he's there warming up on the first day.

I'll take that for the time being.

LOL, you gotta love these tweets from OTA's. They're the same every year.

    " ______ makes a SPECTACULAR catch on a dart from ______."

Then the video shows them just walking through plays in shorts and pads.

Honestly, prepared or not, NFL teams can make it happen if they choose.

I think the plan is to utilize both Mixon and Chubb to provide rest for them while maintaining pressure on the opposing defenses and extend the useful life of both RBs. If both are doing well, we can play with having both in the backfield in exotic sets.

I'd love it if both have the energy to take over as feature backs late in the season if either is hurt.

I'll be honest. I have a thing for innovation, which includes bringing back old looks which are now unfamiliar to modern players. T formation, Wishbone, Veer, Houston veer, run and shoot, etc.

Just a thought. Mixon, Chubbs and Marks in the backfield with Collins and Noel stretching the D downfield.

I like it, the offense is finally rounding into shape, I think were in great shape in the WR room and the RB room, we have CJ taking more ownership of the offense......................now the elephant in the room is the O Line, they can be really, really good if the O Line is good or just decent. Listening to CJ yesterday he said they had been watching old tape of Brady which is more to what CJ ran his first year is encouraging as it protects the O Line somewhat......................we shall see but I am excited, I am not going to get OVER excited as I did last year but man they have made some improvements
