Back on topic, I cannot believe anyone thinks destroying property is an effective tactic. It isn't.

The Democratic party's persistent problem is that they appear to fight only on behalf of "groups", not all Americans. Planting their flag on behalf of illegal immigrants only furthers that perception. I know that the party isn't the anti-ICE side of this debate, but they don't how to communicate that to people when a bully like Trump so easily says they are.

The Trump administration wants this fight because they know, rightly or wrongly, most Americans agree with deporting illegal immigrants. I don't think most people understand the consequences that would have, but Trump has owned this issue for a decade.

How Cubans voted vs how Mexicans voted vs pick whatever other group, is wildly different.

Anyone who thinks 50% of Mexicans voted for Trump is very mistaken.
