Rockets are fine without getting KD or Giannis. I will say would rather them just get more efficient 3pt shooters. They also need someone who can break a defense down, off the dribble. A 3 level scorer that can score from paint, mid-range, and 3 that can dish as well. It's usually your shooting guard, but I don't know if they can develop Jalen into that. Maybe this team just needs a good offensive coach. I do know J Sean Tate and Aaron Holiday have no business being on this team. Also Fred and Jalen should never get that much usage as well.
lol he could have traded Harden for Ben Simmons. Sengun trade? Adams trade? Dillon Brooks trade? Cam Whitmore trade? Rockets have 7 young prospects in just 4 yrs that doesnt happen without trades. They have been picking in the lotto despite getting 0.500 last year and 2nd seed this year that doesnt happen without trades. The fact you dont even know the trades Stone made but still fail him is a total joke. Maybe do some research before you say he hasnt done any trades? lol wtf
I'm not sure why everyone thinks we are in a place where we have to make a move. I would be shopping Jalen + #10 + possibly Whitmore for a SG upgrade but even if that doesn't come about we can honestly just roll with this team and be fine. I would reduce minutes for FVV and Jalen in favor of giving more minutes to Reed and Whitmore If Jabari or Tari has a really big head in extension talks and wants too much money maybe consider shopping them too, but ideally we can keep both. Beyond that, try to re-sign Steven Adams. If you can't, I use #10 on a big man. If you can, I'm flipping #10 for future draft capital to load up the war chest. And as mentioned I'd like to actually play Cam this season and see what he can do, but if the front office isn't going to play him then flip him for draft capital as well. The 26-27 season is where you fully hit the gas, before Amen's extension kicks in. This next season isn't urgent yet, and I don't want to blow it too early and shorten the championship window. Keep developing our guys and see what we have while loading up the war chest further.
They were trades. We got DB in a sign and trade and the pick for Whitmore was obtained via trade. You dont even know that but think Stone doesnt do any trades? lol
I've never mentioned Durant or Booker. Neither of those guys are inside the top 10 players. Giannis is a top 3 player who answers alot of questions imo
Disagree. Chet and Williams are what 23,24? The mvp is 26. They won 60 games last yr and came back this year and won 68. All those guys are mid 20s and they have a boatload of frps. They don't have a player close to SGA. I think Amen can get close because he's multi skilled. They need a force player and to me that's Giannis. He cancels out SGA and now Amen and the rest can balance out the rest of the roster.
What we know is for the next 4 years, they're not going to have enough whatever they have. Those 20-25m dollars players add up quickly. If they never gave FVV 44m or Brooks 22, I would say ok, but they didn't. They continued to draft players who play the same position for a reason. They were setting the table to attempt to acquire a top 3 player like Giannis and still have a team that can win the title. Once it was known he's open to a trade, it gave them the green light for the rebuild. Dame is out until the 26-27 season when his contract is about to expire. After next season, they don't have anyone on their roster and no picks.
You remember when the Clippers were the next squad up with lob city? What happened? The Warriors. What about Dame and LMA? These things turnover quickly. I mean Denver is still there although they lost in 7 to okc after firing their coach.
Having players who play the same position isnt anything new look at OKC SGa, JDub, Aaron Wiggins, Caruso, Cason Wallace all these guys play 1-3. Its called having depth and its a big reason OKC is in the Finals besides having SGA.
I don't think Giannis cancels out anyone, he makes it tough for opponents, dude has had the most 1st and 2nd round exits, fortunately he won one with the path to the Finals being not really difficult.
Lob city failed cuz the owner didnt have any patience and wanted quick wins. Thats why things turnover quickly if we got an old guy Rox window would also close really fast.
OKC are in their position now because they let their team grow organically instead of going for quick wins. Remember when they got Cp3 and SGA and reached the playoffs? Instead of saying everything turns over quickly and trading future assets for another star to pair with Cp3 and SGA they doubled down in the draft and traded Cp3 to the Suns for more assets They didnt pair 22 yr old SGA with a 30 yr old they got players the same age as him.
The magic word was SGA. OkC didn't draft guys playing the same position the traded or signed guys to fit a role, big difference. Lou Dort was on the squad as an elite defender. They traded a 5 tool player like Giddey for Curuso. They drafted Chet and Jaylin Williams. They signed Hartenstein from NY because they want to defend with length. Josh Giddey can play even a a suspect shooter, but once they saw the meltdown in the playoffs last, they moved on.
What is the diff between drafting or trading for a guy? We traded for Sengun, Tari and Cam Whitmore those picks that we used for them came from trades. At the end of the day you have those guys doesnt matter whether thru trade or draft. You like OKC so much you realize they didnt trade for a megastar right? Their trades are for small role players their core guys they got thru the draft and they exercised a lot of patience instead of trading all their picks for a win now star
Cp3 was 34 almost 35 and SGA was 21, that's a big difference unless youre going to tell me 34 yr old CP3 was a top 3 player in the nba. They traded him to Phoenix and what did the team who was just losing in the play in tournament do the very next season? I'll wait
Im assuming you were on board with trading Dream because he was 1 and done 6 straight years after the 86 finals appearance and actually missing the playoffs, correct?
