Vietnam was doing great for a period of time but pretty much shut down everything due to Delta surge. TWN has a Delta surge and was able to contain it quite fast - but the cost of manuf in TWN is high compared to China, Vietnam, and other places. India development centers for major corps have been seriously impacted, again with Delta surge. These impact have slow down some plan to transition away from China manuf and has people rethink about moving some of these manuf and dev centers to countries that handle them better.

It depends a lot on what the original strain of the virus was.

If it had broken containment into their local populations months earlier, but after it got out of wuhan to what we've labelled alpha could cause respiratory distress over a period of hours, fast yes, but there were videos of people collapsing in a matter of minutes.

The longer it was out and about, the more likely what we first saw was a different version than its original, and if the first really was that much deadlier, well then, that opens questions as to why they were radio silent about release of a biological weapon
