20+ years ago, I was in Sydney and we went to McDs for breakfast- I ordered the hot cakes plate. When I received the hot cakes plate, instead of a sausage patty they gave me a hamburger patty. i asked my brother if his sausage biscuit tasted weird, he said, "theres no sausage in it, its a ****ing hamburger biscuit." I dont know if that exact location just ran out of sausage patties and just decided to use hamburger patties or if it was the norm, but we never went back to McDs for breakfast down under.
Never had Australian beef but was watching some Tik Tok video of some Chinese girl in China saying how tariffs impacted beef at the grocery store there. It's all from Australia now and I think it is generally understood that Australia has a better beef product. And, the girl said it was cheaper than the American beef. So, two wins for China on beef I guess on taste and price.
They're stricter about the stuff that goes into their beef, and most of it is grass-fed. I used to eat grass-fed bison a lot and loved it. Other people can't stand the different taste of the grass-fed bison meat (or any grass-fed meat). They use beef sausage in Australia at McDonald's from what I remember. In the US it's pork. Generally speaking Australian beef is probably a lot better than US beef, but if you're expecting pork sausage and not beef sausage, then ... yeah, it'd be a shocker.
My top 3 restaurants are Cheddars, Roadhouse, and E-star chinese buffet because of good value. Restaurants I miss are Fuddruckers and Pancho's Mexican Buffett.
There is one Fuddruckers left I-10 and the beltway its behind Pappasitos and Pappadeauxs so if you don't know its there you might miss it I went last week and it was pretty busy.
I was maybe 14 at the time and stopped in for breakfast. I dont know how fancy you get for breakfast when you travel, but I dont go out of my way. As far as complaining, I was merely stating an experience. So..... https://media.tenor.com/xol-DdfdBw4AAAAM/hey-there-****-you.gif
Much like your experience eating McDonald's when you were 14, you are taking all of this too seriously.
So serious! Its a south park gif. Lulz, but Ill be sure to get the world famous breakfast Australia is known for next time Im there.
My kids love the playground and green sauce at Jimmy Changa's so we go there a lot. I tried their burger the other day and it was surprisingly good.
