Like the US funding Bin Laden and the Mujahadeen, it is not a good idea in the long run. I understand the appeal of having the locals fight each other, but usually whoever wins ends up being an enemy anyway. Were I the PM of Israel, I would not have done it. Of course, if I were the PM of Israel, this war would be over by now.
