Police appears to aimed at and shoot a reporter with rubber bullet. As far as I can tell, there is not an imminent threat to the police officer or even an unruly crowd that would justify discharging this rubber bullet. Disgraceful if the intent is to suppress media coverage.
Newsom said yesterday they are filing a lawsuit to make sure it’s properly documented that this deployment was indeed illegal even though it seems pretty obvious reading the text of the law. The media person who asked him about the insurrection act was smart to try and pin Trump down on that because he knows what he did and it’ll make it obvious to the courts he did not invoke beforehand and there was no need. Obviously the courts won’t do anything about it, and Congress won’t be able to successfully impeach him over it but the fact that it’ll be enshrined into the history books does matter. Just as it matters that he is a convicted felon. The shame and accountability though over time is going to fall on US citizens who voted for this.

Yeah I know, but people need to wake up and realize that Democrats have very little power to do anything. Yes I know Gregg Abbott would be doing more of a show if the roles were reversed and it was Biden sending the national guard into Texas illegally. However the actual power here is still the same. Abbott would never order the national guard to shoot the national guard in the end even though he'd be more belligerent about it. It sounds silly but the power is really with the people, and the protests in the streets as well as our ability to collectively put our money into causes that either hurt the money behind the fascism, or help it by being subservient in our daily lives. MAGA has full control of our federal government. FULL. It ridiculous to make up governing superpowers that Democrats do not possess, and hold them accountable for it. There is always critiques of course.... and different messaging. However WE are to blame as a whole society, and the idiot voters we have in this country who continue to vote AGAINST the interest of the people. My point about the lawsuit is that its needed to create a historical record.... not just about what Trump did to this country so it never happens again.... BUT to shame the country that voted in this nonsense. We got the government we deserved. Now it's just about hoping we collectively can learn our fcking lesson, and put an end to this crap.
