Odd editing. poor dialogue. boring villain.

First teaser is out....

A lot in that teaser.... flashbacks to the NOC list stealing (MI 1). Also was that the rabbits foot? (MI3)

Does seem like they're tying things up for Ethan Hunt's character. I'm still presuming Jeremy Renner isn't in this and won't be the "successor" to the franchise.

Granted, not many (if any) movie franchises have spanned literally 30 years with the same lead actor/character helming every movie.

 

Just saw this. Left my brain at the concession stand and loved it. It's going to be a sad day when Tom Cruise stops making movies.

 

tom cruise carrying action movies and science on his shoulders all by himself. breh is the alexis texas of movies.

Tom is basically willing to die to make a movie spectacle. Enjoyed it, great turn off your brain and eat popcorn movie.

Tom is crazy irl, but he can make movies. Kinda like Mel Gibson.

 

I’ve seen the first mission impossible from the 90s and it was a good movie. Is it worth it to rewatch that and then watch however many other Mission impossible movies followed?

 

If you liked that, then absolutely. With the exception of maybe MI2, they were all pretty incredible. In my humble opinion, the greatest action movie series of all time.

 

Worst movie I have seen in a while. And I really enjoyed past MI movies.

 

And even with that, MI2 is more the feel of the current "over the top" movies than anything the first one had.

In hindsight, the subtly is sorta what made the first movie so endearing... and ultimately kicking off a franchise that has now gone more than 30 years with the same lead actor (any other movie franchises truly do that?).

First movie plot:
Theres a mole in the IMF. They're trying to steal our secret identity list to sell to a wealthy arms dealer. Find out who it is... stop them.

Even other movie since:
XXXXXX is going to be stolen and can ultimately lead to the end of mankind as we know it... stop them.

 

Tom is coming to your house for an explanation. The conversation goes a little like this (from Tom):

"What didn't you like about it exactly? You know...we have a lot of people in the writers room and on set who worked really hard making this film for you the fans! I risk my life making these films! (Up on sofa now) WE WORKED REALLY HARD WHILE STILL ON COVID PROTOCOLS TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN! WE SAVED THE INDUSTRY DURING COVID TO SHOW HOW FILMS COULD STILL BE MADE! AND, NOW HERE WE ARE AND YOU DON'T LIKE IT! (Down from sofa) We work in an industry of tough competitors! It's a cynical world! But, this is ME putting myself out there for people like YOU! I can't enjoy this with you! I can't talk about this with you! I can't see you! You complete me. All the...SHUT UP! I AM OUT HERE FOR YOU! THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS LIKE A PART OF...SOMETHING! YOU KNOW? So, I'm taking your fish! I'm taking Flipper here and we're leaving! I'll see you all again! And, you better like the next offering...FINE! FINE! FINE!"
