And he would have taught Edey a few of his tricks had we drafted him. Now imagine Edey with his size and playing like Adams.
As of right now, based exclusively on real world results, I'm taking Edey over Reed every time. Reed still has more potential ...but potential means you haven't done crap yet. Time will tell who has the better career. It could go either way.
When it comes to rookies potential and fit mean more than stats. Edey went into a situation where he was gifted the starting job. Reed went into a situation where he had to outplay vets to get his chance. Edey was a terrible fit for the Rockets and Reed was picked to address an obvious weakness on our team. Hopefully, this year he will get more of a chance to be valuable. Edey could improve as well. It doesn’t mean Reed was the wrong choice.
Reed was the 1st or 2nd guy off the bench in October. He had his chances. He didn't deliver. Udoka benched Reed and gave those minutes to Holiday. If Reed played well, he could have averaged 20mpg. Conversely, the Rocket's played a double big lineup the 2nd half of the season. Edey would have been better than Landale. Reed has potential but played tentative and didn't deliver. Hopefully he fixes that cause the Rockets need shooting and they need a way to decrease their reliance on FVV. They really need Reed to step up in year 2. Let's see.
Don't be obtuse. Edey and Reed both played NBA minutes so you have an actual comparison. But my cliche still holds true, potential means you haven't done crap. Potential needs to be weighed along with everything else. I think sometimes people over value potential.
LOL, how is this even a conversation? This is going to go down similar to the "Don't sleep on Will Levis" thread in the Texans forum.
But edey wasn’t good and he’s super old. Reed in his games where he got big minutes showed WAY more than edey ever could.
I know this much about Reed…never once did I desire to see him play in the playoffs. It would have been a disaster. Yet, I found myself screaming at the tv for Udoka to give Cam a shot. Think he would be a playoff offensive threat. Even kind of wanted to see more Holliday. Never once felt like Reed would be anything but a disaster. Edey had two 20+ rebound games in the last couple weeks of the season. Reed honestly shouldn’t be in this league as he is a bust with a capital “B”. In redraft I take Edey 100/100 times.
That is just incredible. This thread is one of my all time favorites, i guess sometimes people just go nuts over some random scrub. There’s a hilarious thread about bol bol also.
They played Reed in the game we were up 30+ points at garbage time and the lead got cut to 15 in a couple of minutes. That was enough playoff Reed for me!
Nobody is "going nuts" over Edey. Folks are just saying that he had a better rookies season than Reed. That is all. Hopefully Reed can shut this conversation down in Year 2.
Yea, I acknowledged that. Thread title is click bait. If you actually read the posts, nobody is arguing that. Mostly just saying Edey is better than Reed, so far.
