Self driving will never be perfect. Fatalities will happen albeit they will trend down. If Tesla is telling me there are no fatalities due to FSD, I will be skeptical. That said, it must be proven so therefore Tesla or any car company will never come out claiming it was their fault before completed investigations and appeals.

Link to Reddit where the driver posted the data report. As I suspected, it seems as if the driver disengaged the steering wheel and sharply shifted it to the left (probably accidentally).

Note: I’ve only viewed this on my phone. Will take another look on a bigger screen later on.

I don't think any of that has been proven yet, has it? It also looked like the world's slowest "sharp shift". Then again, I'm not sure how much, if any brake pressure was applied or if he had time to react. I was also thinking some kind of tramlining could be involved, but this is all supposition. It's weird that it happened immediately after passing another vehicle on a seemingly somewhat isolated road, but that could just be coincidence. One thing is certain - he doesn't believe he did anything wrong, and tbh, I don't know why he'd say he did nothing and post actual data online for other to refute if he was lying, but then, sometims I don't understand people to begin with. lol. Still a lot to be resolved.

Here he (SynNightmare) is saying he didn't do anything and the car drove him into the ditch with the steering wheel turning rapidly.

    Status report:

My 2021 Mach-E is still going strong. No loss of battery life, only a few minor repair issues (all covered under warranty), and it remains fun to drive.

Looks like the future entails a lot of modularity of budget vehicles. Toyota has done so with their modular truck with a gas engine and Bezos has this.

Waiting to be able to buy a BYD, better tech, better range and about 1/2 the price of Tesla.

This isn't necessarily proof either way, just food for thought.

Had my first drive in a nice Model S last weekend and the acceleration is pretty addictive. I'd definitely end up in jail for speeding -- every time you punch it you end up 20-30 mph faster than intended.

Maybe import one then, or license it in Canada or Mexico.....

You can, but you can't license it here, so you would be driving around with foreign plates.....

Not a problem as plates are apparently not required in Houston.

Why am I not surprised? You're not driving in luxury unless a slave built it.

Yeah, probably, but if you have Canadian plates, you can just say it is your Canadian car for your residence up there and you are driving it back soon....

I would have named it BYOD...Bring Your Own Driving. No FSD here! Oh well.
