You are correct. They being on the roster is not a death knell for a championship team. I believe they being used in their current roles is, but they would be terrific vet bench players that could provide valuable minutes. It would be up to Stone to provide better alternatives in the starting lineup and Ime using them appropriately.

Sengun is young and can still learn to shoot. We know Giannis will never be a good shooter he's almost at the end of his career, and Sengun was one of the most doubled players all year... not to mention the extra 29 million we'd have to pay him could get us a very good player,

14 pts on 6-13, truly a superstar performance. The game after you were saying all this he had like 8 pts on 2-7. Obviously didn’t hear from you after that one.

Giannis is currently a better shooter than Sengun.

    Giannis:
    10-14 ft FG%: 48%
    15-19 ft FG% 45%
    Midrange: 44%

    Sengun:
    10-14 ft FG%: 40%
    15-19 ft FG% 37%
    Midrange: 37%

No one said he wasn't but he still isn't a good shooter. Sengun has 8 years to catch up.

Bro you said “Giannis will never be a good shooter.”

He already is a good midrange shooter. He has shot around 40% or better in those 2 zones since 18-19 with couple down years in between.

We don’t know if Sengun will develop a shot. It did take Giannis 6 years to do so. What is concerning is Sengun’s 10-14 ft FG% declined from 53% to 40% and his 15-19 ft hasn’t improved at all. So it remains to be seen. He really needs to develop that 15-19ft jumper to stretch defenses otherwise we will continue to see Kevon Looney camped in the paint waiting for his drive or other Rockets players.

40% from mid range is not good. He also shot 22% from three and 61% from free throw line... Both numbers worse than Sengun who isn't a good shooter. No one in the nba believes Giannis is a good shooter. Just like Harden said he doesn't have skill. He just runs and dunks and when his athleticism goes I don't want to be the team paying him 50 million dollars.

You know this is very interesting. While I like Sengun and hope he develops more range in his game, I ponder about the possibilities with this team in terms of roster changes that would propel us to the next level. I am sure management is evaluating this as well. I don’t like how our offense is predictable and compressed allowing sorry teams like the Warriors to simply camp 3 guys in the paint. I don’t believe we can win with a Sengun centric offense. Not necessarily we can’t win with him but the style we play isn’t conducive to winning a title.

I would love yo have Myles Turner and Giannis. I don’t know if this could happen but we would be instant championship contenders with a stretch 5 and dominant 4 and 2 dynamic guards.

While I do think Harden just mocked him, he has some skills like spin moves and Euro Step(acquired from learning from Hakeem)

But yeah, Bully Ball and Finishing thru Contact. Limited Skills instead of no skills.

It's all relative. Sure every nba player has skill cuz you need to in order to make it in the league. But comparing him to other nba players his skill set is limited and he's 90% athleticism and that's what I think Harden meant. He didn't have to practice and learn step backs, crossovers, etc. as good as Giannis is I wouldn't trust giving him the ball for game winner, we would need to find our Kobe to win.

That would be a good pole question. Which would you rather have Giannis and Turner or Sengun and Booker (by trading Jalen). My pick would definitely be Giannis and Turner.

I agree with that but it is not just athleticism, a lot of muscle, strength, conditioning, agility, stamina going into it.

Which makes his power game even possible and I think he is a much better overall player than Dwight and Dwight faded away.

He is more Shaq like and when Shaq declined, he was still stronger and taller than Dwight.
(and a motor opposed to Dwert)

Sengun and Booker all day long. With Giannis and Turner you still only have a 3 or 4 year window before you are forced into rebuilding.

With Sengun and Booker, you have a much more open ended window.

not an unreasonable take, but with Giannis and Turner you have a stronger unit in my opinion, and the window is immediately open.

Imagine the driving lanes that would open up for Amen and Green. The quicker passing on the perimeter and constant driving and moving the ball. The lobs. It would be a completely different look for this team.

Booker doesn’t solve the congested offense problem. They would have to run their offense completely different or change personnel.
