In general I would definitely agree But it's hard to argue with Joe getting him in there a lot since Yordan has been out, cause although it's probably not who he will continue to be, but so far this year he has definitely been one of the best 9 hitters we could put out there most nights
Unfortunately this is a defensible position. The Astros are, basically, playing with a 10 man position player roster. Salazar, Rodgers, and Whitcomb might as well not be on this team.
Mariners got Bryce Miller back w/ Logan Gilbert making rehab starts and close to returning as well. That rotation will be Miller, Gilbert, Castillo, Woo, Kirby. Astros going to need to keep winning
Kirby and Castillo need to show they can still pitch at previous levels. I'm not worried about either one of them until they do. Woo might be their best arm going forward.
Not sure why they bothered to call Whitcomb up if he's never going to play. On the Caratini point, we have no lefties at all in the lineup except him and now Melton. And he's hit well enough the past two seasons that he's one of our 9 best hitters.
Possible pursuits for the pending peddling period: (Geraldo) Perdomo, (Oswald) Peraza, and (Kyren) Paris.
[positive post] Don't look now fellas, but we're now tied for the 3rd best record in the AL! We have always been great on the road and awful at home. This year, it seems like we finally figured it out at home...and now we suck on the road. If we start playing even slightly above .500 on the road and keep the pace at home.....look out. Caratini being one of the 9 best hitters on this team is exactly the problem. Even more to the point, the fact that Astro 1b have an 87 wRC+ and DH's have an 85 that makes him a necessity which it turns really shows the weakness of this team.
