I like Kasparas the most personally right now. I think as a prospect he provides more upside "star" potential with his ability to create both for himself and for others. He also really fits what we need on this roster in additional creators and passing. His shooting %s might not pop off the page, but if you look under the surface they are really promising. A lolt has been made about before his injury he was shooting 40% from 3 and really tanked his efficiency late in the season but i still see 56% from 2 which is very good. 84.5 ft% is a very good indicator that shooting is there or will come. He does a good job of creating FT attempts with a .496 FTr (compared to Flaggs .429 FTr). He also creates(positive) and attempts a very high number of stepback jumpers which is not always a good shot (negative). Yet, having that type of goto move already demonstrates how much craft he already has and speaks of his advanced feel. He does a good job of using his body when driving also to bump and create space to shoot. He can clearly pass (second best passer behind egor imo) and he has a history of playing professionally already overseas and coming up thru the youth programs in Europe. He has really good IQ and feel for the game and is able to use that to his benefit. Very savvy for his age and something I think this team needs much more of. His biggest weaknesses are athleticism, defense, and turnovers. I believe his defense can be average in a few years, especially under Udoka. He has good size for the position and as long as he gives effort should be ok but will still get beat off the dribble and is probably better suited guarding 2s. The turnovers are an issue and a lot of it is laziness with the rock and can lose a lot of live dribbles. He also tries to get a bit too fancy/creative and that also leads to some careless turnovers. I feel like his weaknesses are coachable and I believe in his shot. I also think he has a decent floor as well as a bench guy at worst.
I agree with most of your points especially Kasparas' offensive tools - only issue I have is defensively. As you mentioned, he's not a good defensive player and he's not particularly athletic, and with Ime at the helm, I just don't see how he's gonna find playing time when he's clearly going to be our weakest defender on a team that is currently looking to win as many games as possible (for better or worse). I just don't see a path where he will be properly developed in our system (maybe on another team)
I can understand this viewpoint and we just have somewhat disagreeing opinions on his defensive outlook but I ultimately didn't want to talk this much about kasparas in the Carter Bryant thread and only gave my opinion about him because I was asked. I left him out of my initial post for this reason. tbh, I predict that come draft night Bryant will be BPA on my board when we are on the clock and thus, why I wanted to discuss him here.
