    The thing I don't get about TX Republicans is that they're so - personally repulsive?

    Like other than living in a 51% R state where they control the election rules, I don't get how Ted Cruz ever wins. Same for Paxton Patrick etc

    The Ted Cruz self humiliation is that Angela Alsobrooks is another more attractive human being in the Senate than he is (not hard but still, Larry Hogan was not handsome)

    It's why local elections are important. Take away GOP power to gerrymander and decide poling locations and hours.

    Yeah but Texas - I don't know, there's just too many people willing to sign on to MAGA - that stuff all helps, but I'd say the same thing we see with the national election - even if you do everything right, from policy, to $$$, to ground game and the other side runs a dead husk of a man who racks up self owns - that gets you a coin flip.

    It's hard to dislodge red votes.

    Oh I'm not saying that it will get done. I'm just pointing out why local elections are important. I think the biggest issue for TX voters in local elections is apathy.
