Knicks Interested In Jason Kidd, Ime Udoka; Johnnie Bryant, Jay Wright 'Presumed' To Be Candidates

The New York Knicks do not appear to have a succession plan to replace Tom Thibodeau as head coach, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Jay Wright and Cavs' assistant Johnnie Bryant are "presumed" to be likely candidates for the role.

Bryant is currently a finalist for the Suns' head coach job.

The Knicks also have interest in Ime Udoka and Jason Kidd. The Rockets would reject any interview requests from the Knicks.

The point wasn't that the Rockets should fire Ime, the point was that a team winning 50 games does not shield a head coach from criticism.

    This screams "poorly coached"

Then you are continually missing the point that it’s a multi season process that you can’t just skip seasons and expect to have a “championship level coach”.

We still have ways to go for a championship roster. And nothing is guaranteed. We objectively overachieved this season with the roster and coaching. No one outside of Houston is this caught up in Ime and FVV.

Quite the overreaction and you are overstating things. Boston loved Ime and couldn’t imagine not brining him back due to an affair. The didn’t have the complaints you did.

Ime needs to continue to work on coaching no doubt. But like I said above, this is a multi season endeavor. A lot of you are just upset Ime didn’t manage the team as you would have.

Sure.... and if they had kept him, they don't win a championship. That's the point.

Trade Ime to NY for 1st round pick. Give 1st round pick to Suns for KD. Chris Mannix is the prophet!

Still doesn't change the fact that this is a horrible shooting team with no go to player as currently constructed.

Shooting doesn't change the fact that those young ones proved to be extremely coachable, surprisingly edgy and adept at execution early on.

It blew my mind what 1 single training camp at Lake Charles could accomplish....with dead weights like Reggie Bullock on your roster.

    You went from a 20 Win team to 41 W and then 52 W.

Brunson is probably the highest of that archetype......and he is tougher.

I think the organization should not give up on pursuing 6'6-6'8 playmakers even if they had some setbacks.

Agreed, but this group isn't winning anything.

Isn't that pretty much expected after adding 4 top 4 picks and 7 top 20 picks in 4 years?

I get it, but how long are you giving them for “the process”. I saw no “process” on the offensive side of the ball. I didn’t say fire him. I said he needs to improve or then you will AAZAZQAAQZAAQAZAZAZAt u t Ee e Eat free
People leave that out. He was better than Silas and was handed a couple of valuable vets. It doesn’t make him a great coach. His defense is great and he should get credit for that, although playing a slow down/low turnover offense will do wonders for your defensive stats.

90% of this board will look at this and say it is the players fault or dismiss it totally because it doesn’t match their #2 seed fantasy land.
