My memory is fading. LOL Was it AQS18? I think it was. AQS18 aka ASidd_1990 aka ascaptjack From 2012 Been here too damn long! Thank you all for putting up with me for 17 years.
Brooks,Jayden & #10 For Durant If they don’t like it get up and leave. The salary match is almost perfect. —> At most add one of the FRP swaps. I’d love to have KD but not giving up much to get him. We are not desperate. Know that KD is the best mentor in the world for Smith; he will grow quickly playing alongside him. The trade will level up JSJ long term. It’s like investing in our own future and getting quality play at the same time.
Suns Could Trade Kevin Durant By The Draft; Spurs Connected To Durant The Phoenix Suns could amp up efforts to find a trade for Kevin Durant by the 2025 NBA Draft. The Suns hope that a deal for Durant will involve draft capital, meaning they could want additional picks at this year's draft. That could mean a team selects for Phoenix, and then the deal is finalized when the league year changes over in July. One team connected to the superstar forward is the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are rumored to be looking to add veteran help to a roster led by Victor Wembanyama and last season's trade deadline acquisition, De'Aaron Fox. San Antonio could offer Phoenix a package of younger players, expiring salary and draft picks in a deal for Durant. The Suns have said that they don't want to rebuild, so they may welcome a trade offer built around win-now players, while also adding some draft assets for the future.
Jaylen is still a baby, don't trade him for a 37 year old former star. I'd be ok with Cam and a pick. No reason to get hosed on this.
What win now players do the Spurs have? They’re not sending Fox, Castle, or the #2 pick. So, Vassell, Barnes, and the 14th pick? Bleh.
It’s a much more difficult trade for SA to pull off without including Fox. I don’t think they are serious players for Durant.
Spurs are going to trade for KD after trading for Fox and be more relevant than us next season. This is the consequence of having the safest GM in the league who who has a hard on for draft picks.
So the hypothetical trade for KD from the Rockets side is Jalen/Jabari/Cam. To me if the Suns take that deal without giving them one of the good 1st rounders (they can have one of our own 1sts in the upcoming years to this deal), I would absolutely take that. In that case, you have Sengun KD Brooks FVV Amen Tari/Reed/10 pick/MLE signing for backup. As long as you just manage both Tari and KD's minutes in the regular season, and assuming growth from Amen and bounce back from Sengun, this does look like the 2nd best team in the west after OKC.
Spurs have the contracts of Vassell($27M), Barnes($19M), Johnson($17.5M), Sochan($7M), Branham($4.9M), Wesley($4.7M) and (if necessary) picks galore. Wembanyama, Fox, Castle, #2 pick, Durant
Him speculating, not reporting: [If you could get] Jabari, Jalen, one young guy or draft pick back Jalen Green, Whitmore, one other player to make salary work Spurs: Barnes, Vassell
Trades are always lopsided for the Rockets. So the Spurs it’s Barnes and Vassell. For the Rockets it’s Jalen, Jabari, and Cam for two years of KD.
I agree it's FVV / Cam (young asset) / picks / salary and that's it. I don't know why FVV is untouchable if you have KD. FVV is there to set up guys in the half court. Let KD, Amen and Sengun share that load. FVV typically makes the easy read and is a very rudimentary point guard who doesn't turn the ball over much because he doesn't take risks and he isn't pressured much because there's no need to. People are acting like a 5 foot 10 point guard who can't shoot well and can't apply rim pressure is irreplaceable. Leadership on the floor would be provided by KD and if the guys need leadership off the court, and it can't be provided by someone who learned in the last 2 years, maybe they need a new team too. Add CP3 if you can and you have a much better table setter.
