Is this what you hope happens when YOU retire? Your company just eliminates any money they may owe you?

It's so bizarre to me how quickly fans side with the owners in ways they never would in their own lives.

Wouldnt it be different if you, yourself as an employee werent vested into the company for many years or days ala Ronald Darby?

What do the Texans owe Darby for exactly?

The premise was that the Texans shouldn't owe Darby a dime. But that's not how contracts work.

It's collectively bargained that signing bonuses are guaranteed - so... that's what they owe him. As I understand it, the Texans can pursue repayment - but it was a one-year deal? And he's collecting $300K? It's probably not worth it to them. Or they'll do it quietly and perhaps negotiate a settlement.

We don't really know *why* Darby retired but I think it's weird to be upset he gets paid. It's not our money. It doesn't preclude the Texans from making other moves. We should celebrate the employee winning and stop cheering for the bosses.

Yeah, with very few exceptions (*cough* Watson *cough*) I will never begrudge an NFL player for getting paid whatever he can

Again? He’s out now. We’ve heard “don’t worry, he’ll be back soon “ before. You have to come back before you can go back out again.

Who plays sports again first: Christian Harris or Yordan Alvarez?

I'm guessing he makes it back for a day during training camp before general soreness comes up.

Yeah. F the owners. Most of these people inherited their team, have the public pay for most of the assets and work in a league that can fall ass backward into all the money in the world, despite making mistake after mistake.

People sure are hating on the rich around these parts.

Me, I'm just thankful to be alive.

Stealing is stealing. Which I think that equates to.
Doesn’t matter if it’s from the rich or not.
No different than people shoplifting and making excuses that the stores have insurance or the company can afford it.
He should be paid for his time here, nothing more.

While number assignments can change quickly, Wikipedia seems to be the quickest to update them.

The two players I don't have are Jaylon Thomas RT and Myles Bryant NK who recently re-signed, but whose old number was taken while he was gone. Both are duplicates of other players on the HOUSTONTEXANS.com roster.

    I show these available numbers:

    1, 21 (with the retirement of Darby), 41, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 66 and 68.

These are questionable since they are in the Ring of Honor:

    80 ANDRE JOHNSON and 99 J J WATT.
