Jonathan Joss, 'King of the Hill' voice actor, killed in San Antonio shooting

Jonathan Joss, the voice actor best known as John Redcorn from "King of the Hill," was killed in a San Antonio, Texas, shooting on Sunday, according to police.

A suspect, 56-year-old Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, was taken into custody and booked for murder, the San Antonio Police Department said in a statement to NBC News.

Officers were dispatched to Dorsey Drive around 7 p.m. Saturday night for a shooting in progress and arrived to find the actor, full name Jonathan Joss Gonzales, near the roadway after he was shot, police said.

Authorities attempted life saving measures until EMS arrived and pronounced Joss, 59, deceased.

Joss was the voice actor for John Redcorn in the hit Fox animated series "King of the Hill," replacing the late Victor Aaron, who was the original voice. He also played Ken Hotate in "Parks in Recreation" and had roles in "Tulsa King" and the 2016 remake of "The Magnificent Seven."

Damn...is the cast cursed or what? Doesn't seem like he was involved in the reboot. I enjoyed his spots on Parks and Rec, too.

    RIP

The early story about what happened is wild, sounds a bit BS even. I'm interested to see if the story gets confirmed or debunked eventually.

Neighborhood gossip says Joss was off his rocker for a while. There's reports that Joss crashed the King of the Hill preview and Q&A, acting belligerent and under the influence hours before his death. TMZ says Joss was the cause of his house burning down after the city deemed it uninhabitable. Sounds like he was a bad neighbor who got into a conflict with another ******* neighbor.

I don't know what happened - but this story seems hard to believe. He lived in Texas, not in Afghanistan.

I've been following this as the revival is right around the corner.

Apparently Joss had been having some tough times in recent years (money issues, etc) and a spiraling mental health condition.

Days before the shooting he crashed a fan panel for the KOTH revival in Austin and had to be removed.

His social media posts were really cryptic and erratic, and his final ones stated he basically had to hitchhike back to San Antonio after the panel debacle, after which he was shot dead the night he arrived back at his home (which had burned down some months prior... why he went there I have no idea).

His husband (who looks half his age, whatever) says this was a hate crime but that it had been a feud with this neighbor brewing for years.

    This is all extremely odd.

Four middle aged people dying over the course of almost 30 years isn't really a "curse" IMO.

Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja should be deported. That name sounds like trouble

Murphy and her husband dying as young as they did from "pneumonia and severe anemia" within months of eachother is pretty spooky actually.

You can make a lot of money at a trailer park - but you have to be able to scare the **** out of people that are soul-less.
