Framber is Anna Kendrick. He's an ace, until you put him in a room with aces, and then he's not an ace anymore.

Framber is going to get 4-5 yrs at around 120-140 mil.

I wouldn't like it but I would do this deal. Unlike you, now is the time I would try to get a Yordan extension done.

I'm just glad that you aren't making the decisions that Dana makes.

You re-sign Framber, Hunter and develop a 3rd Ace. Also re-sign Yordan and with the talent on hand you're a contender for the next 8-10 years.

Framber helps you make the playoffs.

So how do you resolve having two players that are limited to DH. Both have too much value in their bats to sit on the bench. neither belongs on the field. I really think it is a legitimate issue that the Astros are going to be forced to address. Should they play Altuve at DH and just live with the inevitable destruction of Yordan's knees. Or, should they play Alvarez at DH and just live with the embarrassing spector of Altuve's defensive failures day in and day out. Neither of these scenarios are fair to the players involved, to the team, or to the fans. Should it be drug out till there is no way out any longer or should the Astros sit down with the players explain the situation and find a way to resolve this and move forward?[/QUOTE]

Fair to the players, fair to the fans? LMAO, the players are well paid and the fans? Fair? LMAO, it's about winning, figure it out and when healthy Yordan has proven to be a stud who shines in the clutch. It Maye eventually come down to picking times, spots to play Altuve. But trading Alvarez to clear a spot for Altuve? SMH, with all due respect.

The Astros allegiance here clearly belongs to Altuve. He has earned it over a long long time with this team and that is in question by nobody. Additionally there are twenty six players on this team and every one of them deserves to play on a team that is doing their best to win every game and the fans supporting the team deserve no less. Carrying two full time designated hitters is not something a team trying to win does. Yordan is a player that probably breaks down well before he could play a half season as a full time position player. I love the guy but I am not about to put my hands over my eyes, ears and mouth while claiming he is something he is clearly not. He does not now nor has he ever fit the definition of a stud. A baseball player is simply more than a bat. To be a stud in this sport you must catch the ball, you must throw the ball and last of all, if you can manage all that you also must hit the ball; in that order.

Agree to disagree and I'm moving on. Like I said I'm glad Dana is making these decisions and you aren't.

Having 2 DHs is obviously not ideal.

Fortunately, both Yordan and Altuve can play the field, and Altuve can even play 2 positions.

    You know, lemons and lemonade.

Yordan and Altuve each play 81 games at DH.

If each player gets 1 game off per week, that leaves 55 games each.

Yordan plays 55 games in LF. Altuve plays 30 games in LF and 25 games at 2b.

Part of the arrangement is you guarantee each player a PH opportunity on their off day. That way each player is only missing 3/4 of a game each week.

Desperate times yield surprisingly reasonable solutions.
