Somewhere after 2001, when "Zone Defense" was allowed, offenses tend to have a slight edge over defenses, only to have defenses catch up. Well teams seem to be copying a Memphis team by adding movement to the quote unquote boring stagnant 5-man out offensive scheme. Apparently it can be used with Pick-N-Roll and other play sets to improve necessary spacing. Coach Daniel has produced a video explaining the concept(s) being used. I found it very educational and hope you do as well. Small dive into Houston personnel that fit the script along with this style. First let me identify Rockets 3P% as they finished the season. Interesting video, thanks. I'd have to look deeper at that team as they had a lot going on, especially towards the end of the season.
Yes, I can see it used with our Pick-N-Roll play set or with Sengun still as the hub of the offense from the FT line. Amen sometimes initiating the play set or slashing along the baseline. Adding another shooter opens up everything nicely, especially a shooter like Durant. Just a matter of, who do we have to give up?
What do you think of FVV and #10 for John Collins and Sexton? Jabari could move to small forward and Dillon would be great off the bench. Still have Jalen, Dillon, Tari, and lots of picks for other trades. Amen, Jalen(Sexton), Jabari, Collins, Sengun. Reed, Jalen(Sexton), Tari, Dillon, Adams or other off the bench.
It works Hemingway. Fanspo.com trade machine VanVleet x Collins Sexton / John Collins It works _________ I've posted before how John Collins score well in almost every category while with the Hawks. Exception is his final year with Atlanta where Coach Nate McMillan rarely used him in PnR. Mainly as a spot up shooter. Here is an example of what players are around an individual or scheme? True; but everyone saw how Adams required 2 or 3 players to keep him from getting every rebound or tap backs. We/Rockets have too many players that don't shoot 3's in: Sengun, Amen .....(and Adams) Adams helps but also hurts the team. Sengun & Adams stink at PnR (Roll Men). Amazing Jalen Green and VanVleet were as high as they were as PnR ball handlers. Rockets looking for that lob threat as well. Not sure Naz Reid is that; but he can shoot 3's. Open up fields of dreams spacing.
Here is the Pacers offense which is a variation of the Grizz offense. by Daniel Li I've pushed for years not being grounded by Sengun and give me a 3-point shooting center. For this reasons the team can draw the opposing center out to the perimeter and set all kinda of screens, with back door cutting action. I don't mind trading Sengun for Durant or Giannis.
I wouldn’t trade Sengun for Durant just because I believe Sengun can get you so much more (including Giannis). I think Durant can be had for not much more than FVV and the no. 10. Most of the team’s that would want Durant are constrained by the cap and/or don’t have very good draft assets. Houston and SA hold most of the cards for Durant and are probably the favorites for Giannis. Milwaukee’s mindset factored into where Giannis is willing to go will determine a lot. If Milwaukee is bound and determined to stay pretty competitive Boston or Miami with 3rd team involvement could come into play.
I'm hearing the Bucks are asking for the world. They want the whole Spurs team in exchange. Probably the same with Houston.
@Hemingway Just an FYI: John Collins deadline on Player Option is 06/06/25 (Spotrac) Friday. Will he choose free agency instead?
Can we be talking about a sign and trade with Utah right now or is that illegal in the NBA? We won’t be able to get Collins if he opts out and can Utah or us engage Collins or his agents in the proposal?
Look to see if they push the date back like we did with VanVleet. If not, we'll find out soon.....by this Friday
