Ime was the problem in the playoff series. Kerr just beat him like a drum. Hopefully, the experience will humble him, but I doubt it.

 

Jalen was trash, but that was pretty much offset by a player in FVV, who shot less than 38% from the field and less than 35% from deep during the regular season, having a fluke stretch where he went 23-39 from the field and 18-27 from deep in games 4-6 after being the worst player on the team through the 1st 3 games

we were down 3-1 to a GS team with an injured Jimmy Butler…at that point, a series is basically over 99% of the time

 

The Rockets should simply cut every player except for Steven Adams - 60% shooting is unbeatable

What? I don't understand why you think he's doubled if he's literally not doubled in any of the shots he took in games one and three. So he shot 37% and scored 12 pts a game, not being doubled in those shots, and your retort is "well, he was doubled the times he didn't shoot!" I don't care if he's doubled when he doesn't shoot, Jalen not shooting in that series was actually GOOD for our team.

Again, go through the games and point out when he is actually doubled. I've yet to see any of the Jalen defenders do this because I don't think it can be done. And if he's doubled and it frustrates him then that proves the point that he's not nearly as good as some people on here think. He can't handle a double-team and pass the ball to the open man? Really?

If all they have to do is give Green slight pressure in the half-court and he melts and doesn't know what to do then that's not a starting SG in the NBA. And many players in the NBA routinely score on doubleteams.

 

Don't bother trying to reason with the Jalen sickos man. They dont care.

The real Jalen double teams are the friends we made along the way.

I can understand if he is doubled and doesn't shoot. But then he should be able to take advantage of the double team and he didn't. They act like he's the only player that was ever double teamed at the three point line. How could he possibly handle the double way out there?????

And when people say "Jalen was double-teamed that series" they are alluding to an idea that he was doubled and that's why he shot poorly and played poorly. That's not the case. As I stated, when he was single covered in all of those time stops he played like ass. If people said, "Jalen was doubled and this forced the ball out of his hands often. However, when he did look to score, he was single covered and sucked" then that would be the truth. His apologists don't say that because they want to keep up the illusion.

Again, everyone who talks "double team" won't go back through and show us the actual double teams. I watched the games and I did not see much of that. And no double teams on his shots in games 1 and 3.

This isn't blind hatred of Jalen. People are saying he was double teamed and this hurt his ability to score. And I've shown he was shut down in one to one coverage. Am I supposed to give him his flowers because he can't drive by Curry one on one?

 

I mean, I went through all of his shots in those two games and you're welcome to do the same. I don't see Butler guarding him in any of my notes but I may have missed one or two. I saw token doubling or flashing a double maybe 3 or 4 times, but again that's when he gets to the lane and everyone is doubled when that happens. Mostly Draymond slides over, takes Jalen one on one, and blocks him or causes him to throw up an airball.

Go back through the tape and see what you think.

 

I have said this repeatedly yet called a Jalen
Lover. Facts are facts. He didn’t play well and should’ve found a way to contribute to winning on the offensive side. He was not aggressive enough going to the paint or finishing in that area. He was trapped and blitzed multiple times. He was also shadowed by Draymond like a QB spy in addition to having a primary defender on him. They also sagged and stacked the paint against him.

Also Following the logic of this thread we can make a case against any Rocket missing shots not while not being double teamed. Amen and Sengun missed several shots on single coverage.

 

Sunk cost--but I agree continuing to start or being traded are the only two likely outcomes here.
