Even with a win, I think Real would still have been 2nd.

Crystal Palace (never won anything in 160+ years) and Newcastle (hadn’t won anything for over 60 years) combined for over 220 years of trophy-less seasons until this year.

City is trophy-less for the first time under Pep and could be out of Europe all together depending on final day results (and the FA having the balls to actually punish them).

(EDIT: I’m wrong. City can’t finish worse than 7th which would be a Conference League spot with Newcastle qualifying for either Europa or Champions League)

United is guaranteed their worst finish since being relegated in 1974…but might still qualify for the Champions League if we win the Europa League on Wednesday.

The EPL will have at lease 9 teams playing in Europe next season. 6 in the ECL. 2 in the Europa. 1 in Conference. It might be 10 depending on if Chelsea wins the Conference League and their final league position.

    So more opportunities to disappoint.

In all seriousness, if we make that Wirtz signing happening, anything but a CL final trip would be a huge letdown. He is that good.

Just wanted to stop in and say a couple of things.

First off there is nothing better than coffee and a toasted bagel Saturday morning, and EPL beginning at 7:30 or 8 here on the East Coast.

Number two, we are a house divided, my lovely wife will "Never Walk Alone", but I love the sad sacks involved in the other kit at the Mearseyside Darby.

This year will be different. I have been watching Wrexham standings for the last 4 years along with Welcome to Wrexham. And with them being in the Championship League this coming year, all of their games will be on ESPN+, so I might be paying more attention to them than the EPL. I;m sure some hate on Wrexham, but it's the only team my wife and I can agree on.

    Have a great day all.

How does one become and Everton fan? Never had anything against them and I'd follow them back when Landon Donovan played on loan and when Timmy Howard was their keeper, but United has always been my team.

I've been following the Wrexham story pretty closely, too. I find it amazing. Just having the money does not equal success but they've done it right. They weren't even the highest spending team in L1. I think the project will stagnate for a couple of years as the step up to the Championship is massive. But if they can hold steady in the Championship, I can see them building to a point of being more competitive and having a chance at promotion in 3-4 years. They just don't have a Championship roster and it's going to take time to build one that has to start incorporating PL level players. The realistic goal for next season should be to not get relegated.

When I go over later this year, Wrexham is on the agenda. A friend of my friend we'll be traveling with is from Wrexham and has high level contacts within the team so, if the schedule works out, we hope to go to the Racecourse.

Why are you a Rockets' fan?

I would imagine they grew up around there.

What percentage of American EPL fans (or fans of other leagues) are from those places? I’ve only visited Manchester once in 2021 but have been a fan since 1990. There’s usually a good story when it’s not one of the traditional powers. If it’s that @Kemahkeith is from Merseyside, that’s cool, too.

That keeper for the Spurs and the save off the line on Hojlunds header won this game for them.

A fitting end to the United season. Just pure crap. Hojlund, Mount, and Dorgu provided their usual nothing. I forgot Mount was even on the field. Bruno had an absolute shocker of a game. Give away after give away. Got a little better after the subs came on but this is simply one of the worst finising teams I've ever seen...and definitely the worst United have produced in over 50 years (since they were relegated in 1974). This loss destroys any hope of having a decent enough budget this summer to replace some of this garbage.

Didn't watch the game but from what I've read it must've looked something like that.

Tough blow. Looked like a done deal for weeks, but I guess he was keen on a new league and Liverpool probably promised to build the whole team and system around him. He will be the best player in no time (not just Liverpool's but the whole league's).

Meanwhile, some impressions from the German Cup final. Third division tier Bielefeld fought well but in the end had no chance against Stuttgart.

No one cares about PSG winning the Champions League? Good. Sad day for football.

It was the semifinal when Milan's keeper just went apeshit on his head, right?

Not sure, haven't seen the semis or the final. You're probably thinking of Yann Sommer, swiss keeper for Inter who usually has the game(s) of his lifetime only when he faces Bayern (Milan by the way refers to the red team AC, the blue side just goes by the name Inter - naturally they hate each other).

Nah...I'm pretty sure it was InterMilan vs Dayglo green whoever....

I of course know nothing and could be totally wrong, because I am merely a dumb uncultured American
