It is not possible to trade Dillon and FVV for Booker with the current rosters. It will not work within the cap rules and it would require the Suns to make a separate trade to get under the 2nd apron and I don’t think that is even possible unless they find somebody that had cap space to unload both Durant and Beal which there are none.

I've watched a ton of Suns media over the last couple weeks and here are the takeaways...

    1. The city LOVES (like Houston/JJ Watt love) Devin Booker, and Booker loves being there.

    2. They highly value Booker, and feel like a Booker-led team with a few off-season additions will get them up to #6 in the West. Also that Booker would be the 10th-12th best player next year, All-NBA 3rd team, possibly 2nd team.

    3. They would expect to get a minimum of 3 rotational players and 4-5 FRPs.

    ------------------------------

It just doesn't seem worth it to me, you'd have to overpay bigtime to get him. The Suns FO would get crucified by fans if it were just a "fair" deal.

Worth trying for sure, but we already left the table once because they are likely asking too much, so I don't see a deal coming together that we love, and one that allows the Suns to save face with their fans.

Definitely not going to trade Booker for scraps or the players Rockets fans try to get rid of.

Question: If the Suns pay Booker 2yrs/$150 million, lose KD, hire a 1st time head coach nobody else wants and finish 11th in the conference, will that "save face" with their fans?

Not in this West. They are a bit delusional if they think that's happening in this west unless they get Zion or something and Zion actually plays a full season.

Dallas and Spurs only didn't make the playoffs because of injuries. Each team is getting significantly better.

I'd argue that the Western conference next season will be even harder next year because of that. Memphis also had a ton of injuries this year. Lakers will be better and will probably have some big addition fall into their lap. KD could bolster any one of these teams, GSW, Memphis, Rockets.

I just can't see the Suns making the playoffs next year, especially without Durant. It's not a knock on Booker, the conference is just completely loaded. If you put the Suns in the East then yeah, he could. This west? Next season? Can't see it.

    Agreed with all the responses...

One other thing to mention is that they spend 95% of their time discussing how to improve and compete. The topic of getting back their picks and going into full rebuild is mentioned in passing, but never seriously discussed. They reference that the Suns FO doesn't want a full rebuild.

So negotiating a trade for Booker will be fighting an uphill battle against a city and FO that refuse to accurately assess the state of their team.

Maybe they will be forced to see things differently by the trade deadline.

A team that's solely led by Bookers and bums are gonna be a lotto team every year. If the Suns are truly that delusion and they trade KD just for picks, then those 2 future Suns picks are gonna be top 10 lotto picks guaranteed.

Anyone just need to look at Booker led team's Suns records before CP3 got there in the last declining year of his play. 20-25 win team every year until they got CP3.

The Suns last year without KD would be a top 6 lotto team. Booker would be a good fit on our team but he's not good enough to be carrying any teams to the playoffs by himself. He ain't prime James Harden.

How do you know the other teams picks are lottery or not (It is not the Suns Picks) Rockets have those Picks.

Why do you think Zion is some magical game-changer when he only plays half the season?

The Suns fans are delusional. Booker isn't worth more a couple of late lottery picks at best plus Cam or Reed.

I did JG, whitmore, our 10th (trade after selection) and their earliest 1st rounder for booker. Fvv went to free agency replaced with davion mitchell for much cheaper. And signed adams back.

    mitchell / sheppard
    Booker / holiday/ gary harris?
    Brooks/tari
    Amen/jabari
    Sengun/adams

You must not have used a trade machine. Under your scenario you will need to come up with 16m more in salary from the Rockets going to the Suns to make this work.

Book is involved with coaching search. Hence, Book is not booking any ticket outta town.

    Let. It. Rest.
