We can pass on the FVV club option and then use that money to trade Reed + whatever works away to Utah for Sexton. New backcourt is Sexton/Jones Green/Whitmore. Start using Whitmore as a guard? I think he's the perfect player to share minutes with Green, especially on days where Green is on one of his cold streaks.
Tyus Jones isn’t a winning player. Small size with no toughness. Trouble switching. Isn’t good at getting into the paint consistently. More of a floater and pull up jumper guy. Pass
Or him... problem is, I think Ty is gonna get paid... best we can prolly do (like many other teams) is full NT-MLE. Depends on what happens with FVV's contract (traded or declined or reworked)
Sexton will be getting most of the minutes. We can continue to use Amen on point defense. Switch Jones to SG defense. Also, don't underestimate Ime's ability to coach a player up.
tyus jones is only 6’1 under 200. Always been bullied his whole career by bigger guards and exploited on switches. Very soft player.
I agree, he's gonna get a hefty raise from the minimum he made last year. If they can reduce FVV's cap hit some, they can offer him the NT-MLE though that would probably prevent them from resigning Adams. The good thing about this offseason, only 3 teams have more actual cap space than the NT-MLE, there will be some bargains on the market as a result. Only 13 teams have enough space under the 1A to use the NT-MLE and not all of them will actually be able to use it and fill out the roster - (I didn't check each teams cap situation). $$$ is going to be tight this offseason, that's a fact. We're not going to see a whole lot of NT-MLE and above contracts this offseason. I really like how this apron system is affecting teams ....
