I am no SGA fan. But I think a lot of "FT merchant" thing is overblown. The real FTA king in contemporary NBA is Giannis. Embiid isn't that far behind when he's healthy enough to play more than half of the games.

But even Giannis has to bow to our Mr. Harden. Harden led the league in FTA for 6 straight years, averaging double digit in each of those years. When Harden started to decline and couldn't drive as much, Giannis picked up the slack and reigned for 3 straight years also with double digit averages each year, including this past season.

SGA in comparison averaged over 10 FTA only once in his whole career.

What are the drivers per game for Shae as opposed to Harden?

I'd be curious to see what they are, and whether they're similar, as Shae seems to shoot a lot of mid rangers.

Good question. Giannis obviously bullies his way to the basket a lot more than SGA. SGA's career at rim attempts are around 25% of all his shots, not bad for a perimeter player.

Interestingly, Harden at the ripe age of 36 was still ranked 4th in FTA per game. His at rim attempts are clearly down. During his prime years, his at rim attempts were only slightly more than SGA's career numbers. (For some reasons, SGA's at rim attempts went down quite a bit this season.)

SGA said he would learn/add something new/old to his game every off season...this year he said he worked on his pull up 3.......

Also have Jay and Chet drive more.
