I’m not putting down anyone - I’m listing stats and facts… you seem offended by that, sorry if the truth hurts.
lol I'm not offended you keep dodging my question. What's the point of your post? What are you trying to say?
he's excusing our #2 pick's efficiency byt showing our #16 picks efficiency you know these guys will use anything as an excuse talking about efficiency in the playoffs https://www.nba.com/stats/players/traditional?CF=FGA*GE*10&dir=D&sort=FG_PCT
the point of the post is in the post, if you fail to grasp the at then it’s more a lack of your comprehension skills
Has nothing to do about excuses - JG is posted also under his thread … just like FVVs in one of the trade threads …
Prepare for Alpi to face a lot of snubbing throughout his career unless he gets traded to NYC or LA tbh. If he had the exposure he deserves people would have seen all the sauce already and why he's "the Wizard" but half these pundits can't even pronounce his name right after 4 years. If he stays a Rocket his whole career, I think he'll probably be one of those criminally underrated players, ironically a bit like Sabonis.
Even Dream is criminally underrated. He would be listed in the top 3 of the GOAT list if he played in NY or LA as long as he played in H-Town. .
Sabonis has made multiple all nba teams, he is another but underrated. One of the most overrated players of our time.
Yeah that's why I said it, it's insane how underrated he is. Like people on here have got pissy and upset if Alpi's compared to him and it's like have you seen this dude's numbers? He's actually scary good and people act like he aint ****. He's more of a snub than a lot of others I see people mention when it comes to awards/all stars etc.
I wouldn’t say his overarching numbers are “scary” good. He averaged 19/13/6 this year with a 114 defensive rating. Sengun averaged 19/11/5 with a 108 defensive rating. In playoffs, Sengun averaged 21/12/5. Not that different than Sabonis’ “scary” offensive numbers with much better defense. Now, I will admit that Sabonis is much more efficient. But therein lies the rub with him - there really isn’t much upside. He’s basically been the same player for the last decade. He’s a very good offensive player, a very poor defensive player, and has no real upside. If Sengun improves his efficiency, he could easily start average 25+ ppg. The most Sabonis has ever averaged is 20.4.
It was a typo. i meant to say he's anything but underrated*. He's MASSIVLY overrated, probably the most overrated players in the modern era. He has made all nba teams while never sniffing being a top 30 player, let alone top 15. Sengun is already better than sabonis pretty easily.
Also not much data but Sabonis doesn't strike me as a player who will perform under pressure. His stats from last year's first round exit are worse than Sengun's first playoff series this year.
It's those numbers along with the efficiency. I genuinely think people are full of **** if they say Alpi is currently the better player, he's like a lesser version. Counting stats Sabonis wins and then compare the efficiency numbers and it's 59/41/75 - 65TS% vs 49/23/69 - 54% I dunno, maybe I got it wrong and you want all of the numbers to be lower to be a better player, not sure. To be clear, I think Alpi will be a better player, but I genuinely think Sabonis deserved the all-star spot more and was the better player last season - and the numbers back that entirely.
He's a regular season floor raiser. He's PERFECT for teams like the bulls or kings (or if jordan still ran a team) who's goal is the 8 seed. He has no value to a team trying to win a title. Not to say that sengun has much value for that either right now, he doesn't, but at least he has a chance.
Sabonis is one of the biggest empty stat guys in the league. I think he's super overrated, the only thing he really provides is rebounding. He's a legit rebounder but that's about it. I think he gets the rep of being a "passing big man" by people who don't watch him because of the high assist numbers but it's all handoffs. He's not a great passer.
I mean, if you only look at certain numbers, sure. But I don't do that. There's a reason why teams with Sabonis at center don't really excel much - he's a limited player who plays awful defense. I feel like you're only taking one side into account. Not to mention Sabonis just doesn’t attract Sengun's gravity - Ime mentioned that Sengun was double teamed 77% of the time he had the ball last year. Check out the highlights from Sabonis's arguably best game this season - I didn't see him double teamed once. All his buckets were from cleanups, cuts, etc., not initiating his own offense. His TS% percentage is higher than Sengun's because he takes far easier shots and gets ways less attention. Sengun's just a much more impactful player, both on offense and defense. It's really not even close IMO.
Sengun is the better all around player and has much more potential than Sabonis. The only scenario where I would think about a Sengun for Sabonis and more trade is if we get Giannis with a Jalen and Picks based trade. Unless Sengun or Amen miraculously become very good 3 pt shooters the offensive fit for Amen, Giannis and Sengun is just not workable. If we got Giannis with Sengun then acquiring another shooting center (Sabonis, Adebayo, etc) becomes necessary. If we don’t trade for Giannis, Sengun and Amen should be untouchable.
