Yea, that was a stinker but the one thing I am getting more excited about is the clutch hitting, when Altuve tied it up at 3-3 I was stoked. The bullpen can't be perfect every game and yea they laid an egg...............not gonna worry unless we **** the bed over the next 2. Were still only a half game back so time to right the ship tonight and hope the M`s lose
When J. Lowe scored in the 7th, after getting up from his slide (end of this clip), he said something to Aranda. I thought then that they had picked up something on King.
I noticed that too, a la Bregman on Glasnow in the ALDS. Ort and Whitley got shelled all on their own though.
Well, that was fun. Could be my imagination but it seems like these ****ers have had our number since the 2020 playoffs.
He's a rookie and is one of the best chances this team has to add some offense over the next few years. Either through development or trade. That pitch was paint on the outside edge. Sure he could have swung at it, but its not like he looked at a pitch down the middle or even an inch inside the zone. Dezenzo was not the Astros problem last night or even the first 1/3 of the season.
But it was silly how he cost us that shortened game against the White sox with his 3 run drop in right field. Seriously though, chas > dezenzo
Salazar only threw 11 pitches last night, so I would assume he is available for another perfect inning tonight?
I wouldn't call it silly. It sucked. There is no doubt that Chas is a much better defender than Dezenzo. I would even be willing to humor you and say he may be a better overall player than Dezenzo. I don't agree, but its a reasonable opinion. However, I think the Astros, and most fans, would agree that Dezenzo has much more upside than Chas, and he can't develop into the player he may be without playing. And that's why Chas is where he belongs, on the bench. FWIW, I still haven't figured out if you ARE Chas or just a cousin or something. I can't imagine any non -family members having the love for him that you appear to.
He looked at all 3 strikes, 2 of them right down the middle. Although I agree he's not the reason we lost, he should not be starting. Edit, he swung at the first pitch.
You make it sound like a binary, Dezenzo plays or he sits. Which, if that was the choice, of course he should be playing every day. He's a solid prospect. But I think there's a reasonable question whether he should be playing every day on the Astros, or every day at AAA. I think his glove could use a lot of work and he strikes out like 35% of the time, but his bat has improved a bit in May and I think he's got a good future. At present he's not a positive impact player, but he's not huge negative. It's definitely a mistake keeping him up just to ride the bench.
