Why would we waste valuable trade assets to give Ime another defense only PG to hold the team back? Smart sucks nowadays. Nobody wants him.
Here's a question: IF Houston makes the trade for a superstar or two, historically teams that do so become attractive destinations for aging veterans looking to sign on the cheap chasing a title (see late Ray Allen w/ the Lebron Heat, etc). Who might some of those types be this offseason that might make a Giannis or Durant or other trade more palatable?
I still think Amen is the guy when things on the line. We need a decent 3 and D guy to replace Jalen as starter. Could be Reed... would have interest in Bane if Grizzlies pull plug...
I not saying TF is cheap just not sure he is all in on paying multi-year luxury taxes. I’ve put trade proposals out there that would put us in the 2nd Apron when Amen gets his money. I could care less if TF spends more than anyone in the league, just don’t think he will. He hasn’t gone into the luxury tax yet, do you think he will?
Was bored.... this works in spotrac... To Boston: Giannis To Memphis: Jalen Brown J Tate To Houston: Desmond Bane Luke Kennard Al Horford Tyler Smith John Konchar To Bucks: FVV Cam Whitmore Tari Eason #10 Picks from Memphis
Boston can still dump salary in separate deals. They can use their elite shooting around Giannis. Should be a favorite when Tatum is back. Memphis spends picks, Bane, and Kennard for upgrade to Jalen Brown to form big 3 with JJJ and Ja. Brown gives them someone who can out alpha Ja on the team. Rockets get elite shooting in Bane and Kennard with a Steven Adams replacement on one year deal for cost of 10, Whitmore, and Tari with expiring FVV who gives Milwaukee a 1 year replacement for Lillard. Figure 3 #1s from Memphis would be reasonable. Milwaukee gets a couple young guys and temp replacement for Lillard. End up with 4 #1 picks and whitmore/eason after FVV gone in a year. Should help the rebuild...
Lineup: Amen Thompson Desmond Bane Dillon Brooks Jabari Smith Jr Alperen Sengun Bench Jalen Green Luke Kennard Reed Sheppard Al Horford Aaron Holiday
Houston In: Anfernee Simons, Robert Williams, #33 and #34 Portland In: LeMelo Ball, Jock Landale Charlotte In: Jalen Green and the #10 Houston picks up a good shooter who can also create shots for others. Also a backup C who can fill in for Adams if he signs elsewhere. Portland picks up a floor general who can play next to Sharp and Scoot. Charlotte rebuilds with Jalen, their #4 pick and another lottery pick (10th).
Depends on whether he thinks it will make him more profit--having deep playoff runs / generating greater fan interest do have value in terms of increasing revenue. I don't have a read on that aspect. He definitely won't do it if he thinks it will be significantly less profitable, he is a greedy scumbag.
Like this trade. We would be better next season and still leaves us flexibility for another big move. It also get FVV off the team and Jalen a shot at the six man that everybody seems to think he is better suited for. Not sure Ime would play Bane over Jalen. People underestimate how much Ime and Stone like Jalen.
There is only one guy the Rockets need to add this off-season to put them in title contention and it would hardly cost us a thing. KJ Martin. I kid. I kid.
