I was checking out the BBS member for Pres thread and was wanted to see if anyone here has actually ran for political office.

Or for that matter held political office through appointment or some other reason.

What office and what did you think of the experience? Something you would do again and do you have aspirations for higher office?

I was appointed to Student Congress at my university as an FBLA representative...

    That's about it.

Almost forgot... I was elected by a 97% majority to the position I currently hold at my job.

BUt as far as "public" offices or anything... I feel no calling into the arena... yet. Give me another 5-10 years... maybe. I really hate politics. I prefer common sense and facts to mudslinging and kiss butt artists.

I guess since I started this thread I should mention I was recruited by the MN Independence party, Jesse Ventura's party, to run for state rep in my district but declined due to my work load and because I once worked with the incumbent. Also knowing my district I know I would've gotten my butt kicked.

Somehow I don't think a Minnesota district that voted for Kucinich in the primaries would support a relocated Texan whose main issue is expanding free trade.
