2025 EAST FINALS: (3) New York Knicks Vs. (4) Indiana Pacers

Pacers are just beating the Knicks at the game of basketball. Knick fans thought they had this series in the bag before it started, so this wakeup call is gonna be one of the more disappointing outcomes they got to live with in the last 50 years.

 

Mathurin might be having a decent game but he doesn't think when he plays. His lack of awareness reminds me of Dillon at his worst.

 

He has bias for sure, but I do like how Stan calls out bad ref calls since he's no longer a coach and can't get fined

 

Plenty of criticism for Thibs, Bridges, Hart and Villanova on RealGM: Knicks.

 

Hope Towns is okay, never want to see a guy get hurt. If he goes down that's a wrap.

Absolutely brutal brunson game, 31 on 9-16 shooting. Thank god nobody on the rockets is this bad.

Bridges has been a disappointment this series

 

This series just goes to show you how big game winners are in playoff series. If Haliburton's ball rolled out and the Knicks didn't choke, this series is 2-2 going back to New York.

Durant sweepstakes going to be pretty high. Minny is going to be in on it, Knicks as well, a bunch of teams that think they are one scorer away. Suns might actually get something for him after all. Damn.

Pacer Tom can correct me if I'm wrong. But if they get to the finals out the Pacers would have another shot to win their first NBA title, since the 70s ABA championship days and pre-merger.

Like to see longtime fanbases get rewarded, so OKC vs Indiana is a great matchup imo.

 

Yes, ABA titles '70, '72, '73 when I was in grade school. Then to enter the NBA they reduced payroll to stay alive, paid a multimillion dollar entry fee, agreed to take no TV money for many years, and then had to hold a season ticket telethon to keep from folding the franchise. It took a while to recover from all that. Lots of ECFs blocked by Jordan or LeBron, only one finals appearance vs. Shaq-Kobe.

A finals win and the Pacers would be the only former ABA franchise to win both ABA and NBA titles. Neither the Spurs or Nuggets won ABA titles and the Nets also haven't won an NBA title.

 

The Pacers winning an NBA title would be like the '85 Bears Super Bowl team: The fanbase would make a lifetime out of it. Words could not describe...

 

Those Pacer ABA days were special times that I'll never forget.

 

Yeah that's rough all time lineup to go against, we had our rings with Hakeem and our own adversity in the GSW dynasty. The ABA stuff is before my time, but I enjoy learning the history so pretty cool for a fanbase to potentially have a shot at a first title in over 50 years.

OKC and even the Timberwolves who haven't been to the finals, haven't won it before either I believe.
