Out of curiosity, I found some clips of Brigitte Macron speaking, and her voice is pretty convincingly female-sounding. If she was born male and went through male puberty, she must have received some amazing female voice therapy.

Just wanted to reassure you that you're not alone. I'm also a french citizen. I'm dismayed that braindead conspiracy theories also thrive in France, but I'm not at all surprised. Since you're concerned with mea culpas, here's an update on those instances:

1. Biden laptop: I myself never had a position on whether it was real or not. I said it was dropped to change the outcome of the election and not because it really told us anything about Biden as a candidate, which still seems right. I have no idea whether Russians were in any way involved, but regardless it was a master stroke October Surprise. If only they could have gotten the media to play along. Meanwhile, the narrative that goes with it -- that Hunter Biden is an incompetent drug addict enriching the family with corrupt deals in Ukraine -- I still believe today to be utter bs. So, I can't offer you an apology on that one.

2. Wuhan lab: Again, I never had (and still don't have) a position on whether it came from a market or a lab. I don't feel like I have the requisite expertise to have an informed position. It also doesn't matter to me. Covid happened as it happened regardless. I do wonder about the motivations of people who want to insist so hard that it was a lab leak. If you can convince me it was a lab leak, then I will approve of... what action? We attack China? We hang Fauci? We stop virus research? What ill-conceived policy pursuit are we trying to rationalize here? So, again, I can't offer an apology.

3. Biden dementia: He was definitely degrading, and I'll admit he degraded faster than I'd realized early in the campaign. But, my position early in the campaign was that I would rather have the corpse of Biden as president than Trump, which is only more true now than it was then. Meanwhile, even as Biden was breaking down, Trumpers wildly exaggerated the extent of his illness and obfuscated the timeline of his decline. I didn't think having a president in cognitive decline was ideal (I had wanted (and posted) in Biden's first term that he would serve 1-2 years and retire, making Harris president with enough incumbency to run a normal campaign, and I was disappointed that he not only didn't resign but actually ran again. At that point, we were held hostage for a while), but faced with a binary choice I had more trust in Biden's Cabinet than I did in Trump. Prospects definitely improved when he dropped out even if the timing was less than ideal. So, I'm not sure where I landed on the mea culpa on that one. I'm sorry I wouldn't formally accede to your exaggerated claims even though I would not have behaved the way you wanted me to anyway?

Did I miss proof for of lab origin for COVID-19 being presented somewhere? Political agencies providing a "low confidence" assessment, based on circumstantial evidence, that it originated in the lab is not proof.
