Between Uzan coming back and the 2 freshmen and the other returning guards I guess he saw some writing on some wall that said "you may only play 20 mpg" Adios, mofo.
Wasn't going to come if Uzan came back. He wanted the opportunity to play a lot of minutes and to improve his pro potential. Houston was a wonderful fit when there was minutes - now there isn't. Also the staff supposedly thinks some of the young guys are ready.
I'm sure the staff was up front about his roll from the beginning. If we trust Milos took take a step like Shead did this senior season. Sharp can be even slightly better and I'm sure he wants to prove the doubters. Kingston is going to ball. Miller and Jefferson should fill Terrances minutes. Pop would have been fun but I think someone or multiply guys from the bench can step up. By the time they all go through another June boot camp the cream will start rising to the top.
This is great all around. Milos is better than Pop, but he isn't nearly NBA ready. Another year with Sampson will do wonders for him.
I’m liking giving some minutes to the young guns instead of Pop especially with Uzan coming back. Be interesting to see how Miller will fit in. All in all it was good to get Uzan back in the fold.
Definitely Walker, Sampson loves him. I think Wilson is out of eligibility, I hope not because he played some important minutes last year.
Mylik Wilson has another year of eligibility? I thought he was for sure gone with Cryer, Francis, and, Roberts. Not sure what Ramon Walker's role is in this program. He's probably better off finding somewhere else like Arceneaux. Respectfully.
Mylik is gone. Last season was his covid year. We lost Roberts, Francis, Cryer, Wilson, and Arceneaux. If Ramon Walker gets his waiver and comes back, its strictly for the vibes. We might be underestimating just how much we lost tbh. Roberts was a security blanket when the offense went cold. Francis was vital with just how much Tugler fouls. Cryer could get cold but its hard to replace his shooting or just the threat of it. Wilson and Arceneaux were always solid. We are going to be good, but a lot depends on the improvement of last years class and what we get from this new one.
Catching up on the reports about Uzan, it seems he really was set on going pro but just didnt have a good enough combine. Sucks for him, but how dare he try to leave us. It really is something seeing likely NBA players or borderline NBA players coming back to college. Like if you're not a lock top 30 pick, there is no reason to not come back with the dumb money being thrown around. If only i were 10 years younger.. and 6'6 with talent. if only.
This is going to be a roster historically loaded with talent that will be guided by a veteran backcourt that has national championship game experience. My hopes will be incredibly high, despite all the Houston Sports history that tells me to temper my expectations.
