I've got the NFL network on while I'm stuporvising the housepainter.... Bum Phillips was just named #6 on their list of "100 Greatest Characters", very fun ~5 minute segment. Deion was #5, btw.
Loose connections with Bum and Earl. BUM - One friend shared a back fence with him when they were very young. He went to my Alma Matter when it was just a 2 year school. Another friend is a former son in law. Earl - My parents graduated from the same high school. I saw him in High School when the went to the State Championship at the Astrodome. The kids had a banner wishing his mom a Happy Birthday.
Stupid question. Lets say the Texans go 6-0 withing the division and loose the other 11 games. do they go to the playoffs? they would have the best divisional record. Was always curious about this although almost statistically impossible.
"smells like football" is giving me flashbacks to the fieldhouse where we'd get geared up for practice. It had an unholy level of stank.
If they have the best overall record within the division, They win the division. It is also possible to win a division without winning a single division game.
If Christian Kirk can remain healthy for the #Texans, I can imagine him being a big factor for Houston. Ya think?
This has potential to be hilarious and fun, but... DON'TGETHURTDON'TGETHURTDON'TGETHURTDON'TGETHURT "iron sharpen iron" Love it.
Division winners are determined by overall record; record within the division is a tiebreaker - though not the first one: that would be H2H. So in your scenario, the answer is yes if the other three teams are all 5-12, or worse. Or! With a 6-0 division record, they would win the H2H tiebreaker with a 6-11 team.
