I've been saying all along that this team is but an identity short of being special. That this is essentially a totally new team trying to get to know itself mid-DynAstry is such a distinct and unique experience to witness in real time - one who's story grows more and more rich by the day. I'd like to hear the case against the proposition that so very much about this win provided the absolutely ideal conditions for to cultivate such an identity moving forward.
Oh wow, bold claim! I have several times had the privaledge of swallowing copious Heady Topper and Pliny, which sit at the top of my heady exclusive brew list. Straight up: I posit Yellow Rose and Gentleman's Relish alone establish Lone Pint amongst the absolute elite.
It was totally true for me and my family, though. Let's hear from someone who lived there for a significant amount of time.
I've got a buddy (brother from another mother type) who I grew up and played ball with since Kindergarten. His son is a bit of a baseball prodigy. Justin says "I don't push him into anything, the kid just wants to play baseball (and some soccer) year round" Reads books, plays baseball. 14 yo playing with 16 yo, he ain't even hit his growth spurt yet. "well, if he's this serious about it, I'll get him the best coaching I can" So yeah, there's travel squad and private coaching and all that stuff I hate....except this kid is actually really talented
Their season is probably unraveling. Especially considering the fact that their 3 good SP are injury time bombs. Their offense could catch fire but the odds that all 3 of Mahle/Eovaldi/DeGrom stay healthy all season are ~0% imo.
