I've never understood why you libs are so quick to poo-poo Drudge's site. It's not as if he kisses Bush's ass at all times. For example, look at this gem from today:

    www.drudgereport.com

BUSH EVENT IN NEW HAMPSHIRE: Event workers had been told to fire off confetti pods when Bush said, 'God Bless'... his normal closing line. But 5 minutes before the end of his speech, Bush offered a "God Bless" to Arlene Howard, mother of George Howard a Port Authority of New York/New Jersey Police Officer killed in the World Trade Center... BLAM!!!!! Everyone first ducked -- hard -- then looked up to see confetti falling. Bush looked momentarily stunned, then plain unhappy, then just went on with his speech as the confetti rained to the floor of the Verizon Wireless Arena...

Who woulda thunk confetti and balloons (DNC) would be such hot topics this year?

You've got to be kidding me. Who looks bad there? It's the people who set the damn things off. You should have seen the site earlier today. He had pics of both of them and a story about their final pushes or something. Bush is looking stoic while Kerry has his arms wide open and a goofy look on his face.

Maybe Bagnewsnotes picked up on it, I'm going to check.

Because he's wrong so much of the time. True he's usually wrong in favor of Bush, but he's often wrong(the Kerry intern non-scandal) and doesn't really come off as very contrite when it happens.

About what exactly? And how "so muchh of the time"? Most of the stuff he put on his site are just links to news stories and the like.

No one is going to base their vote, or even feel for a single solitary moment negative or positively about Bush, over a prematurely fired confetti cannon.

Counting this as part of Drudge's "balance" is just asinine.

    Jeezus.

I wonder why Kimmel, and ABC news gave such little mention...

Oh wait... that was due to it's lack of significance in ANYTHING that matters.

It's not like he was the president... however hypocritical it was.

very rarely does drudge report everything. but after the lewinsky stuff, people started taking him seriously...he broke that story while others sat on it.

99% of his website is nothing more than links to other sources' news coverage. he links to all sorts of sources...conservative and liberal.

Well a good example of the mistrust is the ABC terror tape story. ABC has a tape and they try to verify it with the CIA and FBI. Here comes Drudge, tipped off by unknown sources (probably the administration), and he says ABC is holding the tape for political reasons. Now everybody thinks that. What happens after ABC has to save face and air the thing? The CIA can't even confirm that the tape was authentic to begin with.

I thought the authorities DID confirm the tape and it has already aired (as it should).

That's what I thought, but then I read this:

CIA can't authenticate alleged al Qaeda tape

Here's a doozy from Drudge. Larry King must be drunk to have not followed up :

CRONKITE: KARL ROVE BEHIND BIN LADEN TAPE!

CRONKITE: KARL ROVE BEHIND BIN LADEN TAPE
    Sat Oct 30 2004 16:31:19 ET

Former CBSNEWS anchorman Walter Cronkite believes Bush adviser Karl Rove is possibly behind the new Bin Laden tape.

Cronkite made the startling comments late Friday during an interview on CNN.

Cronkite said he is "inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing."

Interviewer Larry King did not ask Cronkite to elaborate on the provocative election eve accusation.

    Developing...

I refuse to believe this until someone here cuts and pastes a blog to prove it!
