Jake Tapper is an unreliable douche, and I'm not sure why anyone would really believe much of anything he has to say

    Hey, how could this happen?!?!

    TY for the dignified response.
This board needs a bit more of that.
Looking through some clips yesterday in preparation of your response I DID see Jake T. calling others out later in the timeline.
You gave me the gift of education kind sir,

Gullible Democrats were duped again by a dishonest mainstream media! How do they let this happen to themselves over and over?

Hopefully this becomes the Democrats' enlightenment... and they develop the ability to question what they hear from the media. We need more critical thinkers in this country! (because they usually become Republicans)

I don’t think these Dems were duped. They know full well what’s going on like anyone with eyes, ears and brains that can see, hear and think for themselves. They would do anything to stay in power to finish off our country and our ways of life. They’re just gaslighting us about Biden and everything else. The most evil party in existence. I’ve always believed that if we were to wake up tomorrow and this treacherous party would vanish into thin air, our lives would be so much better.

    With all due respect.
Regardless of which party you support, there always needs to be a yin for every yang.
Once there is no opposition to a party, things go unchecked and regardless of party affiliation this would not be good.
You can hate either party, but they serve a purpose.
Plus, if there was no democratic or Republican party to b**** about, what would a good deal of folks on this board do to fill out their day.
    Exercise????

This issue is the death knell for the mainstream, liberal media. How can anyone take them seriously anymore? Here is Jake Tapper shouting down Lara Trump for the suggestion that Joe Biden is in cognitive decline. Obviously, we know now that she was 100% right. And Jake the weasel was lying. Republicans find lying to be morally reprehensible. Democrats lie with ease -- and will gaslight for years when called out on it. Can Democrats compete if they tell the truth? Apparently they don't think so.

I will take other parties out there. The current Dems are corrupt to the cores. There are no redeeming qualities about them. Don’t take it from me. The majority of the country feels the same way. They have nothing to offer us except lies and more lies.

Who to Blame for the Biden Coverup
Now that the ugly stories are flooding out, it’s getting easier to point fingers.

    https://www.wsj.com/opinion/who-to-...8?st=Hf8uYL&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

    excerpt:

Democrats now argue we should ignore the coverup because it’s old news; they lost, let’s move on. But let’s not forget that they had every intention of using it to win. And had they pulled it off, the country could at this moment be coping with a constitutional crisis (were Biden incapacitated and his inner cabal unwilling to give up power), or saddled with Kamala Harris if Biden stepped down. The country deserves the truth, in part to consider ways to guard against a repeat.

The ‘Original Sin’ wasn’t Biden’s. It was the media’s.
Suddenly, reporters are interested in Biden’s decline while in office. Where were they at the time?

    https://wapo.st/45ntIqV

    excerpt:

This growing disregard for objectivity is destroying public trust in the media. According to the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer, 70 percent of people believe “journalists and reporters purposely mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations.”

Perhaps that is because, over the past several years, they watched as many in the media pushed the discredited, Hillary Clinton-campaign-funded Steele dossier; breathlessly reported false allegations that Trump had colluded with Russia to steal the 2016 election (only to learn from the Mueller report that it was little more than a conspiracy theory); suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story as Russian disinformation; and then aided the cover-up of Joe Biden’s cognitive decline — until his disastrous debate performance made it undeniable (and a political liability for Democrats).

For many, an unmistakable pattern has emerged: Whenever Trump is on the ballot, the media colors its reporting to hurt him and favor his opponent.

And now Americans are watching with deep skepticism as the same reporters who dismissed Biden’s mental decline are suddenly asking tough questions about it — and making excuses for their failure to cover it. Sorry, Biden’s mental decline was obvious for years, and the reporters covering the president knew it. They just could not bring themselves to report a story that might help Trump. How will this profession recover its reputation? The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

More of my predictions coming true.
Biden was always going to be the Democrat sacrificial lamb. Biden was always a weak leader.
The Biden administration will go down as one of the worst administrations of all time.
The sheer incompetence in the Democrat party is finally being acknowledged by main stream America. (It was always exposed)
Democrat voters are finally coming around to accepting their current party leaders do not care about their voters...and finally acknowledging there really is little difference between both partys.

    Grok prompt:

What’s your take on the current mainstream media critique that they purposely hid or minimized Biden’s mental decline during his Presidency up until he dropped out of the race? How culpable is the media here, as opposed to people in his inner circle? Do you think it likely there was a kind of collusion to hide details of Biden’s decline from the public?

    Response:

The critique that mainstream media hid or minimized Joe Biden’s mental decline during his presidency has gained traction, particularly after his June 2024 debate performance and subsequent withdrawal from the 2024 race. The debate, where Biden appeared confused and struggled to articulate, shocked many and fueled claims that his inner circle and the media had obscured his condition. Let’s break this down.

    Media’s Role and Culpability
The mainstream media’s coverage of Biden’s age and mental acuity was inconsistent. Some outlets, like The New York Times (July 2022), The Washington Post (November 2022), and Politico (2019), published stories questioning Biden’s fitness due to his age, with polls like a May 2023 Washington Post-ABC News survey showing 62% of Americans doubted his mental sharpness. Yet, these stories often framed the issue as a “perception” of age rather than hard evidence of cognitive decline, and coverage wasn’t sustained or aggressive enough to match the gravity of later revelations. For instance, The Wall Street Journal (December 2024) detailed how Biden’s aides managed his limitations from day one, adjusting schedules and shielding him from unscripted settings, which some journalists admitted they underreported. CBS’s Jan Crawford, in December 2024, called Biden’s decline the “most underreported story” of the year, lamenting the media’s failure to probe deeper.

However, the media faced challenges. Biden’s team tightly controlled access, limiting unscripted appearances and pushing back hard on questions about his health, sometimes labeling critical reports as “cheap fakes.” Journalists who raised concerns, like one in 2023, reported being “blackballed” by the White House. This suggests a media environment where access was weaponized, discouraging tough reporting. Still, critics argue that outlets like CNN and The Washington Post were too deferential, prioritizing narratives favorable to Democrats over scrutiny, especially given Biden’s visible g Vegetation, like tripping or misspeaking, which they downplayed as age-related quirks. The media’s reluctance to challenge the White House’s narrative head-on—perhaps due to partisan leanings or fear of appearing biased—meant the public wasn’t fully informed until the debate exposed what conservative outlets had been highlighting for years.

    Inner Circle’s Culpability
Biden’s inner circle—senior aides like Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, and Annie Tomasini, as well as family members—appears far more culpable. Reports, including Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book Original Sin (May 2025), detail a “protective cocoon” around Biden, with aides managing his schedule to avoid late-night events, using large-print notecards, and limiting interactions with cabinet members or lawmakers. By fall 2023, they reportedly operated a “five-person board” with Biden as a figurehead, shielding him from negative polling data and controlling briefings. Incidents like Biden failing to recognize George Clooney at a 2024 fundraiser or struggling at a White House immigration event underscored a “non-functioning Biden” that aides concealed. A former aide told DailyMail.com that staff used tactics like surrounding Biden to hide his stiff gait and canceling meetings to manage his “good days and bad days.” This wasn’t just denial but a deliberate effort to project competence, with aides dismissing concerns as jet lag or fatigue, even when Democrats like Senator Bennet expressed alarm.

Collusion Between Media and Inner Circle?
The idea of explicit collusion—where media and Biden’s team actively conspired to hide his decline—lacks direct evidence but isn’t implausible in a softer form. The White House’s defensive tactics, like attacking critics and limiting access, created an environment where journalists faced pressure to soften coverage. Some outlets, reliant on White House sources, may have implicitly gone along to maintain relationships, especially given the media’s broader alignment with Democratic priorities. Posts on X, like those from @CollinRugg and @MarioNawfal, reflect a sentiment that the media knew but chose not to report aggressively, though these claims are inconclusive without specifics. However, Vanity Fair (April 2025) suggests the inner circle’s behavior was less a calculated cover-up and more a “fog of delusion,” where aides convinced themselves Biden was fine despite clear signs. This implies the media may have been complicit in accepting the narrative rather than orchestrating a conspiracy.

    My Take
The inner circle bears primary responsibility for managing and concealing Biden’s decline, as they had direct knowledge and control over his public exposure. Their actions—scripted events, restricted schedules, and dismissing valid concerns—were a disservice to the public and the Democratic Party, potentially costing them the 2024 election by delaying a stronger candidate’s rise. The media, while not blameless, is less culpable. They reported on Biden’s age sporadically but lacked the access or will to dig deeper, partly due to White House stonewalling and partly due to a broader failure to prioritize the story over partisan considerations. Collusion likely existed as a tacit understanding rather than a formal plot—journalists, wary of losing access or alienating Democratic sources, didn’t push as hard as they could have. The debate was a wake-up call, but by then, the damage was done. Both sides failed the public, but the inner circle’s deliberate shielding was the bigger betrayal.

“Little difference between the parties” in one aspect. Dynamics of groupthink can play out within both political parties, which is no great insight or revelation.

Biden should have committed to not running early in his Presidency. This was a position many (though perhaps not enough) voting Democrats had, particularly on the younger progressive side. Not sure why you are patting yourself on the back as being some lone voice of sanity.

You have forgotten the left was gaslighting anyone who disagreed with them and portrayed them as far right extremist republicans for not lock stepping with every lie. Every day during the Biden administration Democrat voters got their instructions from MSM, which was heavily influenced by institutional democrats.
You have also forgotten how Democrat lemmings lined up behind Biden's decision to run again, reassuring everyone that Biden was 'sharp as a tack'. It wasn't until the ultra wealthy billionaires pulled their money from Biden and started backing Trump did they decide to deep 6 Biden. And then laughably told the country that APPOINTING Harris as the democrat candidate was the best decision from the country ... even thought relentlessly being told she was much more unpopular than Hillary Clinton with a fraction of the intelligence level.

I still maintain I voted for Trump and that I also believe Trump is a terrible candidate and that the Republican party still remains in rubble. However the Democrat party, at the point, is likely in a worse off state with no hope in sight. This doesn't bode well for 2028. At this rate, by 2035, we will be well over 100T in debt (regardless of party) and debt-to-gdp creeping to 200% with a nominal inflation rate of 6%... all because we can't find competent government officials who can't think past their next election.
