    Padres get:
    OF Chas McCormick
    P Nick Hernandez

    Astros get:
    IF Rosman Verdugo
    C/1B Lamar King Jr.

That would be a good return for McCormick imho and has some good upside for the Padres. If they make the move now they can give Chas 100+ pa to see how good he’ll be for them and if it doesn’t work out they can address it at the deadline and only be out 2 lotto prospects on the fringes of their org Top 30. Astros get a couple of high risk/upside prospects they can give a couple of years to develop and deepen their farm system.

It's weird and its only 8 players too unless it's been addressed further down the page. Smith to bat 9th in rf for this lineup?

Ryan O’Hearn is an ideal target for the Astros. Pending free agent after this season. LHH who can slot into the 5/6 hole, DH, spell Walker at 1B when needed, and has been playing some LF for the Orioles. The Japanese pitcher they signed to a 1 yr deal (Sugano) also looks like a solid target, especially if Blanco is out for the year. Sugano will be 36 in October so I doubt the Orioles will be looking to sign him to a long term deal. With the season fading fast for Baltimore, he may be expendable.

I’ll let someone else come up with a “fair” trade proposal. But adding O’Hearn to this lineup and/or having a legit LHH off the bench with this team at full health makes the offense look much better on paper.

    Peña-SS
    Paredes- 3B
    Altuve-2B/LF
    Alvarez-LF/DH
    Walker-1B
    O’Hearn-DH/1B/LF
    Diaz/Caratini-C/DH
    Cam-RF
    Meyers-CF

I don’t think O’Hearn is an ideal fit unless Houston is ready to commit to Altuve going back to 2B most days. Otherwise they’re looking at only being able to play 3 of Walker/Alvarez/O’Hearn/Altuve on any given day. Of course on days Altuve did play 2B the lineup would be stacked.

I still think Lux or Lowe are the most likely guys for Houston to target, and I’m keeping Brice Turang as a dark horse. If the Cards start losing some games then Donovan would be back in play.

I definitely get your point there. The Yordan hand thing worries me as far as pain management, potential for excessive rest, etc.

Altuve and Walker have shown a little more life lately, which is a great sign. Those guys are going to need some rest days along the way. I’d definitely be cool with acquiring Lux. Seems like we are 1 legit LHH bat and a healthy Yordan away from having an offense that can win us some games when our pitching struggles. Thankfully the pitching has done an outstanding job thus far.

Yeah, if Houston traded for O’Hearn anytime soon, I would take it as a really bad sign about how Houston felt about Yordan’s hand.

I have no idea (the Stros sure won't tell us) what the actual issue is with his hand, but I wonder if he's ever tried one of the "thumb guards" that you see some guys use while batting? It's basically a shock-absorber for your top hand

You can google "mlb hitter thumb guard" if you don't know what I'm talking about.

It is curious. If it's the palm of his hand I would have thought the ax handle bat that had a minute of popularity in 2022 or 23 whenever he had his last hand issue happening would make sense.

I have no idea if he still wears one or not. I have no idea which hand is hurt. I have no idea if he still has two hands.

    Ask Dana.

One of Phish's best tunes. Thanks Napster!

Literally just listened to this following the Dog Log in the encore of my very first show {IT}, having listened to it with my partner in preparation for her first coming up soon in Austin!

Oh, back in the LimeWire/Napster days, there was a highly circulated copy of the Gourds' G&J intentionally mislabeled as Phish. It was a hoot.
You're gonna be a genius anyway!

There is no such thing as a good Phish tune.

Edit he is selling his house that is pretty close to mine.
I will be happy not to smell the patchouli oil smell when I'm down wind.

    When you're right, you're right.

And when you're wrong, you're really wrong.

Next you'll try and tell me that the Dead and the Allmans are just some mediocre hippie jam bands

Arenado has come crashing down to earth after his hot start. Might have dodged a bullet after all...
