I'm nearing 56, trust me I get it. You’re 64 IIRC? Just thankful every day my feet land on the floor in the AM. I work out religiously and my brain says LFG! My body says “yea no” you’re not lifting that much today…..
By the way you guys talk you would think you were 80. Hell, I thought Marshall was probably mid 80’s. I’m 67, but don’t feel nearly has miserable as you guys seem to be. Sorry if you’ve had serious health issues, but the typical mid-60’s guy doesn’t talk as old as you guys. I’d kill to be 56 again. I didn’t quit playing basketball until I was 55 and was already pretty fat.
I'm in fantastic shape, not miserable at all, my body looks 40 but when I hit my 50s, man what a slap in the head. I now have hearing aids and coke bottles for glasses. Just a couple years ago I was doing 315lb deadlifts for reps but now my joints are too arthritic even though my strength is still there. I've had no back issues until lately and last week I was diagnosed with Sacroiliitis and have been told, due to age and arthritis I can no longer do deadlifts, squats or heavy rows if I want to avoid the pain. I had to have a 6cm hernia in my chest repaired last year via laparoscopy so they want me to drop the weights and do band workouts. Ha! No ****ing way but I have to find a happy medium due to age.
I'm only getting 5hrs max. We bought a Purple bed with adjustable bases and I'm sleeping a little better but still not where I need to be. I found out I have EPI (pancreas issues) so I cut out all alcohol last November which has been great but I have a lot of energy as of late.
I bought one of those pillows that stays cool and it has added at least 2 hours sleep. Getting about 7 now, was getting five. Highly recommend it.
