That's a different argument altogether and it depends on the person. If a person has a drink or two going out to dinner that's different than smoking weed every day. You won't convince me that people who smoke only do it once in a while. Alcoholics though are much more dangerous.

You can do that . . .you cannot compare one extreme to the opposite

If you gonna say Smoking Weed Every day . .. compare it to Drinking every day

It's like debating how much better a Toke once in a while is better than getting black out drunk every day

    All things in moderation

My wife is an organizer by nature and a thinker who can't sleep because she can't shut her brain down.
Dr prescribed Xanax to her. She did not like.
When weed became legal here in NY she started taking edibles and threw out the Xanax.
    It's changed her life.

I indulge myself, it's a great evening without the hangover the next morning. Never toked up in high-school or college. I will say I'm neither unproductive or lazy.

    Your experiences might be different.

Funny thing is we were in Texas 2 months ago for my father's funeral. Even in the little town of Woodville there are 3 smoke shops pedaling Deltas and kratom. No one know what's in those concoctions.

The weed here in NY is highly regulated. All products are grown and manufactured in state.
The only issue up here is the market is over saturated with dispensaries and of course the 20% tax.

I wouldn't condone either. If someone is drinking every day they're an alcoholic. That's extremely dangerous.

In my personal experience people who smoke just don't take a toke once in a while. Getting black out drunk is ridiculous. That means the person isn't holding down a job.

    I agree with moderation

Xanax is terrible. I can't say I have any experience with it but I have a family member who did. Ugly situation.

I'm glad to hear that. Just because I don't agree with it so be it if it helps you two.

I'll take your word on that. I'm surprised ypu didn't. Most did to be fair

MAGA Republicans just gave a major gift to the Cartels and made the border that much less safe due to the cascade of drug smuggling that now will happen.

@GOATuve would observe that your wife got very little done overnight and thus the weed made her lazy.

You’re Michael Scott, aren’t you. You’ve never even seen a “mar1juana cigarette” in your life, except maybe in movies. Is the only place you’ve gotten your so well informed knowledge from “Reefer Madness”?

I realize it's sarcasm but obviously I've been around weed.

Also, amusing a bunch of adults (obviously an assumption) smoking weed. I understand Kemahkeith's wife situation but I'm guessing that's not the case for others

I will say the social stigma is all but gone up here in Upstate NY.
None of the soccer moms are sparking up doobies in the parking lot, but they are hitting their weed vapes from whistle to whistle.
Although weed is legal lots of folks like me hate the smell in public. Vapes are everywhere and no smell.
Can't tell you the last time I went to a BBQ amongst business acquaintances and peeps weren't vaping weed. These folks are upper management types not Skyrim playing folk living in the basement.

    I'm not condemning anyone's opinions.
It's a very personal decision to embrace or not.

This is likely a very small sample size.

Others here have also been around weed. Others have been more than just around weed.

From my small sample size, ...

Smoking weed does not make one lazy.

Smoking weed for most is nor chemically addictive ... perhaps psychologically ... I have only known one person to whom this would apply.

People looking to get wasted Friday/Saturday night can do so with weed ... with the added benefit that the next morning they will not be hung over.

I do not see a good argument for criminalizing weed usage (except for underage users). Alcohol is much, much worse.

If you look at all of the college kids in 1960s and later generations, the majority of these people know the truth about weed yet pretend they do not.

It’s honestly not obvious you’ve ever been around anyone who has ever smoked weed..And you’d be wrong. You’re just wrong. You’re making assumptions based on pamphlets and probably your high school’s DARE program. It’s the case for millions of people. I’m not going to get into the many many medical benefits or even the recreational ones because the evidence is everywhere.

You don’t want to partake? Fine. But your ill informed opinion is not factual in any way. There’s a reason a vast majority want to loosen and even legalize thc products. Texas is the only state going backwards on this. We’re not the outlier because of some better knowledge. We are because the leaders of our state are corrupt to their core.

In response, Governor Tim Walz posted this:

I've been around more than weed. I assume that's the case for a lot of us.

I'll have to disagree with you it doesn't make people lazy. People frequently fall asleep, ect...

I don't know if that's accurate. I'm guessing college kids getting wasted are doing so on alcohol.

Alcohol is restricted from people under 21. You have to show an ID. I don't purchase weed but I doubt that's requirement.

    That I don't know. I won't pretend that I do

Can't speak for other states but in Colorado, you have to show ID just to walk in to the store. They generally have a lobby area and the actual store itself is restricted entrance only to those of age and they scan your ID. Don't have to do that to walk into a liquor store.

You know there are different strains and types, right? Not all make you fall asleep. Not all fall asleep. No 2 people react exactly the same.

Again, you're admitting your ignorance but keep talking. Statements like "I don't pretend to know", "I'm guessing...", "I doubt that is..." and " I don't know if that's accurate". Really...just stop.
