You are talking about guys who would be 50/50 to be as good as the AAAA guys on the roster. That's not even worth the effort.
Chandler Rome came out with an article that said the roster is poorly constructed. Which it may be. But, I’ve never seen him talk about the overall roster construction before the all star break. Joe is looking for something to blame.
All you do here is defend Dusty. Anyone who you can place blame on to deflect from what an awful manager he was you will. Espada isn't good. He learned from the worst and it's going to cost him his job. Just like it did Dusty.
Espada couldn’t hold Dusty’s water bottle. This mediocrity is exactly why you deserve though because you couldn’t stop complaining about Dusty when we were winning. Now you see what terrible actually is. (Smirks)
I definitely don't want the Astros to lose but people definitely overhated on Dusty despite giving us the WS. Many players had career seasons under him
Nobody wanted Dusty to lose. We were all disappointed that he gave the Rangers the series. We were all wanting the Astros win the WS in 2023.
No he actually played the struggling catcher and not the one with the .900 OPS. He gave the series away you stupid dusty only fan. he also benched Chas and his .842 OPS
He only pinch hit against their closer you dumbass how many starts did Diaz have? How are you that dumb? Dusty ****ing lost. You have no defense idiot.
He was struggling in September and it carried over. You can do revisionist history all you like. Wasn't the reason that series was lost.
Not struggling as bad as maldy you don’t bench a .900 ops guy for a .600 ops guy. Especially when the guy with the .900 ops is also a better defender and had a better catcher ERA. It was Dusty being stubborn and nothing more and the Astros lost because of it. You’re a straight up idiot
Explain why Maldy wasn’t retained when Dusty wasn’t, right after that series ended. Explain why they weren’t retained and Diaz was our starting catcher from the beginning of the very next season and still is. You think Maldy has the year Diaz had last year? Maldy can’t even block the low pitches anymore and couldn’t in 2023 either as he lead the league in passed balls his last 2 years here.
You and RVO forced me to make my first comment in years. Diaz 24 at bats in April- .250 AVG, .644 OPS Diaz 34 at bats in May- .235 AVG, .670 OPS Diaz 84 at bats in June- .310 AVG, .897 OPS Diaz 72 at bats in July- .264 AVG, .854 OPS Diaz 86 at bats in August- .302 AVG, .895 OPS Diaz 50 at bats in September- .300 AVG, .960 OPS Why are you claiming that Diaz got benched because he was struggling? Entering September Diaz was still playing at an all star level. Baker stopped playing him, Diaz last start was on September 26 against Seattle. He was used sparingly the rest of that season. Why would Baker bench a guy who was mashing? You’re also claiming Diaz would not have made a difference. These are the stats for the bottom of the lineup for the Rangers and Astros in the ALCS. Astros' 8 and 9 hitters: .214 avg/0 HRs/0 RBIs/1 Run Rangers' 8 and 9 hitters: .382 avg/2 HRs/7 RBIs/11 Runs The Astros lost all 4 home games against the Rangers in the ALCS. McCormick and Diaz had great seasons and Diaz was the Astros best hitter at home that season.
