I don't really disagree with that .... if you believe in the player, just pulkl the trigger and live with the results.

As for Coward, I have him pretty close to Demin & Fleming with Jackucionis a bit higher than that group ....

If Jackucionis was gone and all three are on the board, it would be a very difficult decision between the two (Coward & Demin) - Fleming, as much as I like him, is redundant with Tari, Jabari, Brooks & Amen holding down the forward spots.

Actually it does mean something like if you look at his free throw percentage what does competition have anything to do with that? And dont people say that ft shooting is a good indicator of how they will shoot in the NBA? His shooting 3s over 3 yrs is also a great sign, if his role is just catch and shoot then that indicates he will have an ability to shoot open 3s in the NBA.

To me physical tools are what stops skills from translating as competition ramps up. Like Adam Morrison, he is extremely skilled but those skills couldnt translate to the NBA because he wasnt athletic enough. So in Cowards case given how athletic he is and his measurables I expect that shooting to hold up in spite of the increase in competition.

I dont really believe in redundancy I mean first of all Amen doesnt fit that group cuz he isnt a 3 pt shooter. Secondly if somebody gets injured you will now have hole, like what happened last year we lost lots of games without Tari and Jabari. Third when Jabari and Tari get extended we might have to get rid of Brooks for cap reasons thats why you always need cheap rookie contracts.

LOL. Lebron also didn’t have marketable looks. He turned out fairly ok.

    What do we need more?

    A dynamic guard.

A Tari / Jabari / Brooks replacement? (I think you can keep any two of the three and maybe all of them depending upon Tari's extension).

I'm going with the guard, the Rockets guard play was often lacking last season .... especially if it means Jalen moves now or even next offseason.

We shouldnt use the draft to fill the need, because we dont know if the guy we get will be ready immediately or need some seasoning like Reed. I think Rox should go with who they think is BPA regardless of position and then we fill holes with free agency or trades.

My preference is honestly trade down and get more picks, if we get both Coward and Fleming or Noa Essengue for example I would lose it.

In the grand scheme other than a Point guard, would have needed a Flagg like presence at PF or......preferably a hybrid.

Or a SF and PF hybrid.....someone that you can pair up with Amen and replace Dillion.

I see the logic in grabbing one of the top PGs available at #10- Demin or Jakucionis. We certainly need another shot creator. I'm not sure Ime would play either of them but they both have the potential to be good players.

I also like the idea of Coward or Fleming due to the measurables and shooting.

I'll be happy with any of the above four. What I don't want is another center. Sengun is our 2nd best player and I want Jabari to get minutes at the 5.

I think after the top 5 there's not a lot diference in quality of picks from 6-20ish so IMO we should walk away with a pretty nice talent/s

I hope so. I really love the draft. It's especially awesome that we won more than 50 games, made the playoffs and still get to pick in the lottery. Life as a Rockets fan is pretty great right now. We should all probably complain less than we do.

I think I have it narrowed down to a top 3 I would want if we keep the pick. granted someone like kon doesnt slip somehow.

    Kasparas is "currently" my favorite.

He is weak defensively and not that athletic but he does have size and awareness. I think in this system and under Ime he could be an average defender. On offense he just understands how to navigate and be in the right spaces to create things. He is a very talented passer and facilitator and seems to have a good shot. I know he ended the season poorly but for about 75% of the season i believe he was 50/40/80. He can create seperation and has a nice stepback, and navigates the PnR very well. Just a high IQ player on that end with a lot of craft. We really need more offensive IQ and creation on this team more than anything. That and shooting, which I believe kasparas checks all those boxes.

Carter Bryant is my second choice.
Game reminds me of a blend between jabari and tari. Love his defense and measurements. Dribbling is kind of a weakness similar to jabari but has decent connective passing. Seems to have a good shot and solid mechanics. Prototypical 3nD with some upside. Would fit this system very well and is depth insurance at a position of strength that may have some turnover here soon.

Collin Murray-Boyles is 3rd, and at one point was my favorite.
I think hes the best defender in the class. Incredibly active and intelligent on that side and can guard 1-5. Problem is his shooting and size. While he has got good measurements for a wing, hes kind of gotta be in that chuck hayes/draymond small ball 5 role where e leaves a lot of size off the table. Can facilitate and playmake well from inside the arc with a decent handle for his size. Potential is there if he somehow becomes a decent shooter but his form is bad and it will take years to become servicable.

Players I wouldnt mind taking "chances" on are Cedric Coward and Rasheer Fleming, maybe even Egor Demin.

What's the verdict fellas? ROCKETS getting SNL Bill Murray Boyle? Disney Moana Maluach, or Kon's Nipple.

If they are going to pick at all they should move up to get Maluach. Then have him shoot a million threes until the season starts.

What’s the temperature here on Kasparas Jakucionis? He’s not the kind of guy who’ll walk into Houston and impact right away, not yet. But you can squint and maybe, just maybe, see the outlines of a future lead guard starting to take shape.

I can't be the only European person who hears the way they pronounce "Knueppel" and feel very thankful that as far as languages go, at least mine doesn't really get massacred in the States lmao. In no universe is the original pronunciation of that anywhere remotely close to "k-nipple" lmfao.

So, a no defense, no athleticism, 6'6 Euro style guard that shot under 32% from the college 3.....

Sounds like a guy that wouldn't even sniff the court as long as Ime is here.
