Stupid troll job and stupid idea. Sengun was more deserving of the all-star reward the year before, but they made up for it this year. He is a 22 year old player that will be a perennial all-star. He can and should be traded if the return is substantial enough to make us instant contenders, but no less than that.

He is surrounded by open shooters when he gets into his third dribble or when the delayed double comes before he makes a spin move or his offensive move. He often tries to score even if it’s against a double or triple. Many times he often looks off shooters and opt to go up for a difficult shot. If he is more patient and understand when teams will collapse on him before passing to shooters he would elevate his game. This is what he needs to work on

I think having an open Reed Sheppard is a much better option than an open Jalen Green (unless Jalen is just feeling it). I think Sengun did some of that because the thought was he was the best scoring option even if being double teamed.

    He shot 47% midrange in 17-18. 15-19 ft 45% 20-24 ft 42%

    He shot 51% midrange in 16-17. His 15-19 ft % was 50% and 20-24 ft was 42%.

    His 3pt% in 17-18 was 39%.

He always had a solid 15-20 ft jumper since rookie year and only expanded his range more each year. Sengun has worked on his 10-14 ft jumper since 22-23 but only shooting 40% last year. He doesn’t shoot much beyond 14 ft. He may increase thjs range out some point but his development is slower than Jokic since he incorporated these aspects to his game at a later stage. This is why his progression to a long range shooter may be bleaker

If that’s the case he should learn to trust his shooters. It’s not just Jalen. Bari Tari Brooks wide open on many occasions but he opts to score instead of passing. This isn’t good offense and not winning basketball. He has a lot of skills and talent, he just needs to take this game to the next level which is the cerebral part.

If Green was an Amen Thompson or Russ Westbrook level shooter that would make sense but he's basically high volume league average 3 point shooter - that excuse doesn't really track.

Sengun just isn't as good at finishing as he thought he was/was previously

Pacers traded Sabonis to get a star guard.. maybe Sengun is best as a trade piece, but it’ll have to be for a megastar. We just don’t have a number one option. Very disappointed to see Sengun get stood up by guys like Podz. Hopefully he’ll get his offense back to form next season. Regardless, he can’t be our number guy, that’s not who he is. I’d rather trade Jalen, but who’s giving up a superstar for him?!

But this is why he shouldn't be traded at all because there isn't 1 trade out there that would make us an instant contender.

You're lying to yourself if you don't think Giannis in Houston doesn't make them a contender.

Actually Jalen Green is the second best catch and shooter on the team (after Aaron Holiday and tied with Brooks). He's 41% on all his catch and shoot 3's, not just open ones. Deadly and consistent on those shots. He improved from being 32% and one of our worst the previous season.

I hope Sheppard becomes better than everyone though not just at hitting open ones but in general. We need that.

They are already a minor pretender, out of all contenders only 1 wins.

    Being a minor contender isn't a guarantee.

    What about the playoffs?

The bigger problem in the playoffs for Sengun was that his true shooting was an abysmal 49%

Why would it? Let's trade for a guy that got eliminated in the first round who also can't shoot. How does that make us a contender? Our biggest problem is that we can't shoot. Trade for Giannis and pray Reed grows into a star? He absolutely just doesn't fit our timeline.

Ok by me. If we do trade Sengun we better have enough left over to balance out the team. I really think just getting rid of FVV for Durant would make us contenders maybe even more so than getting Giannis if we have to give up Sengun.
