Dame didn't formally ask for a trade, but he was traded also

Does it matter if we get the offensive rebound and score? Still scored that possession. So it's really not as many as you think.

Wait, so his misses don't count now? Y'all prop this guy up worse than any fan of any player on any team ever tbh.

The point of basketball is to score on a possession. If you angel Reese 3 shots and still score why does it matter in the grand scheme of things. Sure he missed easy shots. But that's not why we lost.

We lost because we played 4 on 5 the entire series. Anyone blaming Alpy (or Amen or FVV) for anything is deranged.

So then efficiency is irrelevant as long as we're the best offensive rebounding team (we are) then right? You're talking absolute nonsense, if all of our "star" or "franchise" players were efficient and didn't miss the shots, we'd still be in the playoffs. Some are heinous, others are just bad, but let's stop the bullshit of trying to change how it works to prop up your guy. It was embarrassing how badly our guys shot in the playoffs.

Where did I blame Alpi? Oh thats right I didn't, I just said that his fans can't all of a sudden decide his misses don't count any more, because they can't.

That's not what I'm saying, efficiency should be judged based on possession. It's not a great stat just independently. Cuz the point is to score each time you have the ball is it not? Do I care that I missed layup got a rebound and scored cuz it's still the same result. We need to normalize the stat to make it make sense for basketball terms. This is not just a sengun thing all players should be judged like this. Sometimes a miss is as good as a pass.

Tired of anyone blaming Sengun like he's our problem. Dude balled out in the playoffs against one of the best defensive players who literally got away with murder. People won't understand how valuable he is to our team until one day he gets traded and we go back to being in the lottery.

Once again, didn't blame Sengun for anything so stop trying to create the straw man argument because you can't win the actual one. Missing matters, regardless of whether we get the rebound or not the efficiency numbers matter. You don't get to straw man or gaslight to the opposite, it's bullshit.

I don't get why it matters if we still score. Enlighten me. What's the point of basketball? Isn't it to score per possession? If I missed 100 layups got 99 rebounds and still scored didn't I accomplish my goal? I am a big efficiency guy, I do think he will get better but this teams efficiency shouldn't be judged that way because of how good we were at offensive rebounding and put backs. I really feel like we had guys just chucking shots up knowing we would get a layup. And this is not a comment based on just Sengun. This was the whole team, we don't luck into the second seed with how bad our efficiency was as a team. Throwing up a bad shot was sometimes our best offensive. That being said Sengun efficiency was still below average.

Sengun tried hard, but balling out means succeeding in my book. His play on offense was erratic at best and putrid at worst. I love Sengun and wouldn’t trade him for anyone other that a superstar in their prime, but to act like he “balled out” in the playoffs is not correct. His shooting and FT shooting regressed significantly this year and is one reason our offense was about the least efficient in the league. He has got to get his mojo back from the mid-range and low post this off-season. That being said, Ime and FVV are the biggest issues for this team. FVV needs to be gone and Ime needs to improve his rotations and bench game.

actually, he did. He had been asking behind the scenes and finally went public with it, which forced Cronin’s had. I live here in Portland. But Cronin didn’t trade him to Miami like he wanted

Ironically what was considered a low ball offer last year of Tyler Herro would have ended up being a much better deal for Portland than what they actually got for Dame. They really screwed that up.

Wasn't the guy in Milwaukee always in contact with Cronin, it shouldn't have been a surprise move if people knew that Milwaukee was pretty much involved behind the scenes.

Nah sorry, this is some weird ass narrative. "I really feel like we had guys just chucking shots up knowing we would get a layup." So you're saying that the offensive strategy/structure is to shoot shots we know we can't hit because we have offensive rebounders? Do you realise how stupid that sounds?

did you watch us play all year? It's literally what we did. Most of Fred's shots inside the three point line were just prayers to Adam's or sengun or amen offensive Rebounds.

I dunno why that would be dumb if you penetrate and they cut off the passing the lane the best play is to shoot it off the backboard to your teammate who has good rebounding position. I'm not saying they tried to miss on purpose obviously you try to make it but the shot was taken with confidence that we could still get it or with no time on shot clock. That's a big reason why our efficiency was bad. We waited way too long to start our offense and we had to throw up prayers.

So you're saying our players aren't good enough to shoot the ball into the hoop, but are accurate enough that they can "hurl a prayer" with the intent that the ball is going to bounce off the rim/backboard to our offensive rebounder? Well at least we now know you've never played basketball in your life I guess lol.
