Cmon Nook. Pharmaceuticals have negotiated prices for each medicine that Medicare is obligated to pay for reimbursement. Whatever medicine or medical equipment you want has a specific fee schedule reimbursement tied to it which is written on paper and agreed upon by the insurance companies.

The only way to lower medicine is by giving Medicare the power to negotiate lower prices which only congress can do. Biden admin got this through congress but it was only for partial list of medicines as they didn't have votes for full negotiations.

@Salvy @Space Ghost @raining threes these people have no idea what the hell they're blabbering about. I use to own a pharmacy and know the process pretty well.

The president of the USA is doing a business venture with a company that was just found guilty of money laundering and committing fraud lol. If this was any other era this would be headline news.

America is broken. It's just funny how the braindead trolls who spent the past 4 years clinging onto every Hunter conspiracy have completely disappeared @Os Trigonum

The guy spent the past 4 years posting 4000+ times in this section cosplaying as a "moderate registered democrat" while posting every Hunter Biden conspiracy in the world. Suddenly now Trump is doing what he accused Hunter of doing on steroids and hes completely disappeared lol.

@Os Trigonum represents everything wrong with America. Shameless disingenuous losers

What are the odds enough Republicans back this bill for it to pass? We know he has a lot of loyalists who are too crooked themselves, or too damn spineless to do anything about Trump's corruption, and his blatant domestic and foreign support for those businesses, foreign leaders, lawyers, white collar criminals, and billionaires who bribe or defend his criminal actions most.

    End Crypto Corruption Act

The End Crypto Corruption Act bans the President, Vice President, Senior Executive Branch Officials, Members of Congress, and their immediate families from issuing, endorsing, or sponsoring crypto assets, such as meme coins and stablecoins.

President Trump’s crypto assets now account for nearly 40% of his wealth, and his net worth has increased by $2.9 billion thanks to crypto investments. This bill puts forward a blanket prohibition on acts that could be self-serving in order to guard against conflicts of interest.

“Trump is cashing in on his presidency and making millions from his own crypto coins—this is corruption in broad daylight,” said Kelly. “I’m supporting this bill to make it illegal for the President and other government officials to make a profit from crypto assets. It’s time to put a stop to this.”

As Trumps Monetize Presidency, Profits Outstrip Protests

The president and his family have monetized the White House more than any other occupant, normalizing activities that once would have provoked heavy blowback and official investigations.

By conventional Washington standards, according to students of official graft, the still-young Trump administration is a candidate for the most brazen use of government office in American history, perhaps eclipsing even Teapot Dome, Watergate and other famous scandals.

“I’ve been watching and writing about corruption for 50 years, and my head is still spinning,” said Michael Johnston, a professor emeritus at Colgate University and author of multiple books on corruption in the United States.

Roadmap for corruption’: Trump dive into cryptocurrency raises ethics alarm

“Trump’s crypto schemes are profoundly corrupt,” Merkley told the Guardian “He’s selling access to his administration and enriching himself in the process.”

In response, Merkley and Schumer introduced the End Crypto Corruption Act, which 20 other Democrats have endorsed.

Merkley stressed that the bill would “not only crack down on this corruption but also prevent other officials – like members of Congress and Trump’s billionaire sidekick Elon Musk – from betraying public trust”.

Trump quickly chose crypto industry allies to run the Securities and Exchange Commission and as his “czar” for crypto and AI. Among other moves, the SEC has dropped or put on hold investigations and prosecutions of over a dozen crypto firms.

Trump has taken corruption and self-dealing to a new level,” said the ex-Republican congressman Dave Trott of Michigan. “He seems singularly motivated to deregulate the crypto industry for the financial benefit of himself and his family, and few Republicans are calling him out.”

Trott said he was weighing a run for Congress in 2026 as an independent or a Democrat. “I wish I was still in Congress so I could vote to impeach the guy,” he added, referring to Trump.

Further, leading House Democrats say Trump’s presidency is benefiting his burgeoning crypto business in dangerous ways.

“Trump’s personal and family net worth has gone up by billions of dollars this year due to crypto ventures,” said the Democratic representative Jamie Raskin from Maryland. Raskin warned that Trump’s crypto ventures offered the “perfect opportunity for foreign government, corporate and individual funds to be funneled into Donald Trump’s bank account and his family’s finances”.

The odds are higher of me winning the lottery than this bill has to pass. The republican party is the cult party. Nobody will stand up to Trump other than a few libertarians like Rand Paul.

Trump has made 40% of his wealth from crypto scams. It's sincerely mind blowing how corrupt he is

I don't believe with Kush Patel running the FBI that he would ever dig deep investigating Trump's corruption, or shady activities. I feel the same about Pam Bondi ever bringing charges on anything Trump does, no matter how illegal it is. As for the rest of the Republicans, I'm beginning to wonder if they would ever vote to impeach Trump for anything illegal, corrupt, or treasonous, even if it involves our national security or taking bribes for foreign policy or support. It sure doesn't seem like they would after what happened January 6th, and with their defending the billions he's grifted this term so far. It's mob mentality, and as shady and corrupt as ever, especially with so many conflicts of interest between them all.

Facts. Most folks have no idea how drug pricing actually works or what it would really take to drop prices across the board. The Trump admin throwing out tweets about 80% savings “immediately” was pure theater. Real reform needs legislation, leverage, and transparency, none of which Big Pharma willingly offers.

Also, if anyone out there is working in pharma or healthcare and witnessing actual fraud or price manipulation, this law firm handles whistleblower (qui tam) cases.

Sometimes it takes insiders stepping up to crack the system open.

Trump's gift to a corrupt sheriff who used his position of authority to accept bribes for badges. Why doesn't this surprise me? It sounds just like him, although his bribes and rewards are at a much grander scale, and total billions.

Trump pardons Virginia sheriff convicted of federal bribery charges

President Donald Trump on Monday granted an unconditional pardon to a Virginia sheriff who had been convicted of federal bribery charges and sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.

Trump praised Jenkins as "a wonderful person, who was persecuted by the Radical Left 'monsters,' and 'left for dead.

Wonderful person? Give me a break old man.

Jenkins was convicted by a jury in December 2024 on charges including one count of conspiracy, four counts of honest services fraud and seven counts of bribery concerning federally funded programs.

"After he was caught, he sought to manipulate the judicial process and to evade responsibility for his crimes by lying to the Court and the jury," Lee added.

"In sum, Jenkins' lies and abuses of power in the instant case are not an aberration," he said. "Since his early days in law enforcement, Jenkins has displayed a shocking disregard for his ethical and legal responsibilities."

    https://abcnews.go.com/amp/Politics...ed-federal-bribery-charges/story?id=122206606

Scott Jenkins Received Over $75,000 in Cash Payments in Exchange for Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff Appointments

According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Jenkins accepted cash bribes and bribes in the form of campaign contributions from co-defendants Rick Rahim, Fredric Gumbinner, and James Metcalf, as well as at least five others, including two FBI undercover agents.

Rahim, Gumbinner, and Metcalf have all pled guilty for their roles in the conspiracy.

In return for the bribes, Jenkins appointed each of the bribe payors as auxiliary deputy sheriffs, a sworn law-enforcement position, and issued them official Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office badges and credentials. The bribe payors were not trained or vetted and did not render any legitimate services to the Sheriff’s Office or the citizens of Culpeper County.

In addition, Jenkins pressured other local officials to approve a petition filed in Culpeper County Circuit Court by Rahim, a convicted felon, to restore his right to possess a firearm and which falsely stated that Rahim resided in Culpeper County.

Seriously, at what point do we get some non corrupt people holding corruption accountable? Or are we waiting on an army of Luigi's to start taking matters into their own hands?
