Hmmmmmmm, interesting timing indeed, but no surprise about any of this. We know who Trump considers worth beating and roughing up a bit, and which cops or victims he defends, depending on their skin color or race. We also knows the White Nationalists who stormed the Capitol were what he called Patriots.

This timing reminds me of controversy Trump stirred up when he proposed having his Tulsa rally on Juneteenth. You know damn well why he did that.

Justice Department moves to drop police reform agreements with Louisville, Minneapolis

The consent decrees came after the killings of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd.

Attorney Ben Crump, who represents the families of Taylor and Floyd, said in a statement on Wednesday that the decision is a "slap in the face."

"These consent decrees and investigations were not symbolic gestures, they were lifelines for communities crying out for change, rooted in years of organizing, suffering, and advocacy," Crump said, adding that these moves will "deepen the divide between law enforcement and the people."

Addressing reporters in a press conference on Wednesday, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey criticized the Trump administration's move and noted that the city is "serious" about its commitment to police reform.

Frey also questioned the timing of the announcement.

"The Trump administration is a mess," Frey said, referencing the various delays requested by the White House in federal court. "It is predictable that they would move for a dismissal the very same week that George Floyd was murdered five years ago. What this shows is that all Donald Trump really cares about is political theater."

The Civil Rights Division also announced it would close investigations into police departments in Phoenix; Trenton, New Jersey; Memphis, Tennessee; Mount Vernon, New York; and Oklahoma City and with the Louisiana State Police.

100% what the police departments around the USA need is *less* oversight and accountability.

For the record George Floyd did of a drug overdose. Although the cop was wrong for doing what he did to Floyd.

Taylor was living with a drug dealer. You take your chances and sometimes come up snakeyes.

    But carry on.

Of course I do. I am 100% behind backing the blue. The problem lies in that other percent. All it takes is a few bad seeds, a few dirty cops, and a few willing to turn a blind eye in fear of retaliation. I would guess there are plenty of agencies that don't have dirty cops. But, the ones with a history, often dating back years of abuse and dirty coverups should be viewed with a microscope until the problem goes away. Believe it or not, we still have a huge problem in some cities, and some rural towns as well.

That's simply your opinion. It's not fact. Many experts said differently, and what you call wrong could also be called murder.

He died of an overdose. This came out in the autopsy. I know it doesn't fit the narrative though.
