Coward strikes me as an ok pick, and I don't have him too far away from Nique Clifford. They are both serviceable, somewhat experienced guard options. They're physically ready, know their strengths, and have some ability to create off the dribble (Clifford more than Coward). They both are better players when a point guard sets them up for catch-and-shoot opportunities.

Coward has more SF in his game, and there's good tape of him posting up his opponents. Not sure how many of those catches translate to the association.

IMO, there are others with more upside that can be had at #10. I would rank (in no particular order) Carter Bryant, CMB, Kasparas, Queen/Sorber, and Egor all ahead of Coward and Clifford.

But no matter what talent gets added, without Stone clearing a path, the only thing a #10 pick is doing is joining the stay-ready squad. I have serious doubts that our GM is moving players. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The TNT team was calling Jalen a superstar after his 38 point game 2 of the playoffs. You people are disgusting the way you want to throw this 22 year old who literally led us to the second best record in the West to the curb. Jalen is part of the solution. Get rid of Dillon, FVV, Jabrari, Reed, picks, Landale, etc. before you touch the big three: Amen, Sengun, and Green.

Not sure why you’re saying “you people” to my post defending him.

Oh I see, he's right there underneath Norman Powell. Just keep looking a little further. . . .

    Keep going. . . .

    Almost there. . . . .

    just, just a little further. . . . .

Coward fits this team as a younger Derrick White. Yeah he wont be a 3 level scorer and wont be able to create shots off the dribble, but if he can hit open 3s consistently and also be a plus defender and crash the boards (with his 7'2 wingspan and legit 6'6 height) then I see him becoming an integral part of this team similar to rookie Danuel House. House was really good for us until he got that 3 yr deal and lost that ambition.

There appears to openings in the rotation for a backup 1 and a backup 5.

Yet all of this talk of a wing that can create his own shot (and play enough D for Ime to consider PT)

If you're bringing back RS and Adams, "openings" at the 1 and 5 may be a bit overrated. The only drama is how many minutes Adams can effectively play, or whether Ime will trust Sheppard to oversee things on the court. In both cases, having a plan B (Egor/Kasparas, Queen/Sorber) might be helpful.

I just assumed that Adams will be going to the highest bidder. The Lakers for one would die to get Adams.

I have no clue how serious the Rockets and Ime are about current backup 1 options, especially Reed and Amen. Ime played FVV into the ground versus giving anyone else on the roster a shot

If we're sending Steve-O to the Lakers in a SnT we better be getting Austin Reaves back, in which case they might ask for more in the deal

If there's no one at 10 that the Rockets really like, they really should be looking to move down or move out of the 1st round entirely for future picks. The Rockets have a lot of high value picks but they don't have a large quantity of them. So they can run into Stepien rule limitations when it comes to their package for Giannis or whoever other superstar available. So unless they already have a trade lined up with the Bucks and the 10th pick is made for them, may just be better to just turn the pick into future ones, which are generally more valuable in trade packages than picks already made.

Unless an euro to stash, otherwise a roster would have to be reserved. Someone like a Tate or Jeenathan might not be back next year.

That draftee might also be like Cam/Reed, where official minutes would be limited, if any.

Lastly, current poll of 44% say trade the pick.

I still want Nique Clifford if we're making a pick at all in the first round. He's everything I wish we had in the backcourt right now--versatile, crafty, strong and physical, a good jump shooter, and above all, reliable on both ends. If you think you can trade back and still get him I'd just do that.

I don't see a superstar, but I see a guy who can contribute right away and become something like a very good two-way #3 option. Perhaps Desmond Bane-esque in the NBA. Having a guy like that on a rookie contract could be really huge for us in a couple years when the salary crunch really starts being a major problem for building a roster.

He can make room by trading guys like Tate and Holiday. You don’t throw away a lottery pick. You never know if that player turns out to be someone special.

The same with Carter Bryant who would fit in well here once we move on from Brooks and Tate. I can see him going to the Spurs with their other first rounder which would piss me off. The defense and iq would be stacked to go along with Harper and he can shoot the three.

yea I just say we draft Carter Bryant. I can see him being a Jaden McDaniels type. He's someone that can contribute right away just off his size and IQ. At worst, he's a Max Christie.
