Would you still be a Rockets fan if your favorite player was traded?

It is kinda funny that this is a SOF bait thread but none of them are likely to respond to it, as obvious as it is.

 

I kept rooting for the team after Robert Horry was traded, so yeah. That said, if they had traded Dream for Barkley or something stupid like that, it would have been tough.

 

Anyone who is a Rockets fan would stay. Anyone who is a Rocket's fan would leave.

Still miffed about Otis being traded for Clyde even though it turned into another championship. Then Sam and Horry for Barkley. Both were heart breaking but understandable. It’s all part of being a fan.

 

This is an interesting question because I became a Rockets fan as a kid when my favorite player at the time (Drexler) was traded to Houston. Olajuwon became my new favorite in short order. When Olajuwon went to the Raptors I was a teen and Olajuwon was at the end of his run so that didn't get me to jump.

After Olajuwon Francis became my favorite and when he was traded for T-Mac I didn't for one second consider switching and haven't considered doing so ever since.

So no matter what moves the Rockets make from here on out that's my team.

I stopped following after Rhodrick Rhodes was no longer a Rocket - that dude was destined to be an all time great 13-15th player

 

They think is about Jalen Only Fans or Jabari Only Fans.

 

It would never be about those groups though, because none of those groups only exist on the forum because of said player. A very large portion of Sengun's fanbase have only supported the Rockets since he played here. The majority of fans of the other players were Rockets fans first, that's just fact tbh.

well let’s ask this to op: if you don’t like your team’s best player, will you support him? Or if your favorite player sucks, will you still claim he is not bad but? Op has a well documented history answering both

the obviousness of the thread sure says something about op.

 

Like I say, it was patently obvious to me what the thread was about the minute I read the title and saw the name. It's a trap that only a SOF is likely to fall in to just because of the nature of Alpi being an overseas player coming in and being good enough to actually bring a loyal fanbase with him. I wouldn't expect any of the Sengun fans to respond to it in all honesty, there's no way to answer without falling in to the trap.

 

Rockets, Texans, and the Astros will always be my #1 team to root for, regardless of the players. Now days the big stars in sports get traded or ask to get traded so much it's dizzying. Once a guy's contract is expiring the bidding war to sign him begins, and you can't depend on them to stay for less money or not change teams to chase a ring. I can't even keep up anymore. Trades or players leaving might make me like watching my team more, or maybe less, but I stick with my team regardless.
